I’m just booting up the game for the first time in a couple of days, and I go a notification that I’m banned from using voice online for a week. Why would this happen? I don’t even actively use communication except with friends. Although I do have the Kinect hooked up most of the time - set up right beneath the TV - perhaps feedback is the issue?
Anyway, it’s not a huge deal I guess, just felt undeserved and I was confused as to why it happened. Any insight would be appreciated.
(also, sorry if this is a waste of time and/or space, but I was directed here for questions, so there you go)
Cheers.
And of course I see the official ban thread right after I post this. How do I delete this? Kind of seems unnecessary now.
If you don’t have a mic hooked up the Kinect uses its mike instead. I found I was broadcasting my somewhat caustic comments by accident that way. Glad I didn’t get a ban before I found out.
That was probably it then - I kind of forget I have it hooked up. Gonna unplug it from now on. Thanks for the insight!

In the settings through the dashboard, there is an option to mute the mic on the kinect, all voice commands will still work it just won’t broadcast every noise on XBL so it will fix the issue… No need to unplug
yea halo 4 has some kind of abuse filter. you get caught hurling abuse, racism, homophobic remarks and anything else really you get banned. and im ok with that
people we pissed of a while ago about it but honestly im all for a friendly gaming community
