VISR/HUD in Infinite

Just saying, what if every single Visor color or helmet had its own unique HUD? Something like the Halo 5 co-op characters in the campaign. (All 8 characters have different HUD) this would be neat. Unlikely, but neat.

Neat, sure, but you want those standard HUD references when you’re playing the game, don’t change them TOO drastically.

What about just being able to change the color? For example, the original blue or yellowish orange from ODST.

If it’s anything I’ve wanted, it’s the ability to adjust HUD components wherever you want. Let yourself adjust the kill feed, motion tracker, weapons and ammo counter, etc.

I honestly wouldn’t mind having a customizable HUD. Would be nice to personalise it a little

Having the ability to customize your HUD would be awesome, as long as there is no setting that gives players an advantage over others.

I’ve wished for a HUD customization option for a loooong time, i’d be just fine if they added in the option to choose a set version for the HUD, heck i’d even say let’s throw in some Classic HUDs like H1/H2 HUDs.

its a good idea an i would like to see it happen, this would bring more weight into which visor you use rather than just choosing the color

Here’s a better idea that I’ve been hearing about…how about instead of just making a new HuD for every single ‘co-op’ character, let’s instead let the player choose which hud they want so in theory someone could pick any previous HuD UI. (So in theory someone could customise their armour to look like an Odst, even use the HuD to actually look like Halo 3: Odst)

Though I kind of wish the games would go back to the health/shields design instead of dealing with ‘quick-kills’ because shields feel like my only line of defence.

The ability to customize the hud without (obviously) breaking the game and changing the color would be a good one or premade huds which is okay too.

It was originally planned for H5, but ultimately scratched because of technical difficulties I think

So just to clarify, are we talking about HUD appearances or are we talking about image enhancement abilities like Promethean Vision?

Changing HUD appearances would be an interesting touch, you pretty much were able to do that in H2 simply by changing from spartan to elite. Of course there really wasn’t much of a change other than color. I think Reach had more changes to it.

I wouldn’t mind changes to the HUD aesthetic but I am wondering how practical it would be on a console. On PC where just about every HUD element is just a simple window and arraigning them and changing color is easy. However I can see some players accidentally remove UI elements such as warning flashes just by changing HUD color. So a fully customizable HUD might not be that feasible, a selection of preconstructed HUDs could be the better option. The only question is how easy would it be to implement it, or would development resources be better put to use elsewhere?

I had a similar thought a few years ago with Halo 5. Different HUDs to add flavor.

HUD Styles
Noble: Halo Reach
Spartan: Halo CE
Heretic: Halo 2
Demon: Halo 3
Helljump: ODST
Reclaimed: Halo 4
Guardian: Halo 5

Then Sangheili would have their own version that isn’t just a recolor.
