So I was playing the Halo 5 campaign a while back and noticed in co-op there are different visor overlays matching the helmets Blue team or Osiris is wearing. I have always wanted this feature in multiplayer. Seeing as how every time, no matter what helmet you pick in multiplayer, it always ends up being the default mark 6 overlay.
What do you think? Should they implement this feature in Infinite?
How would some of the helmets work, though? I don’t know the name but if you click on my profile you can see it as I am wearing it (it’s the one with no visor just the 3 little circles) this would be very complicated but it’s a good idea nevertheless.

I always kind of figured that they had a screen behind those holes and inside the helmet. I would kinda make the outline of the circles in the overlay, like how the lines on the visor of the Mark 6 helmet are I guess.
If you ever have played Halo Online the helmets are like that and it’s really cool but doing it for every helmet would be a challenge
I’d like this too.
Not sure how realistic it is tho.
That would be a super cool level of customization but I can’t see it happening because it would mess with how “clean” the game looks and 343 would have to give their graphic designers a massive raise.
Some of the helmet functions as described in game would probably be a little OP for multiplayer. But if they could find a way to make each HUD unique without breaking the game or making 1 better than another I would love this.

We are just talking about overlays, not any visor function or anything.

I know, I didn’t mention anything about function.
I’d love that. I can see a lot being relatively similar to each other though, and if it ends up being a ‘concern’ about time/resources they can always trim the Helmet roster a bit. Ther’es a fair amount of clutter in Halo 5’s. Yeah, there’s some gems and some good ones, but there’s still clutter. Personally I’d love to see things like Wetwork and the like, but again I feel it’ll probably have a lot that are similar to each other to ease the strain of needing to do a HUD for every helmet.
I could see there being a group of helmet “Classes” and then the base HUD for those classes are what deviations of that class branch out from. So wide, spherical HUDS like the EVA and Pilot would have one type e.g. Might ease up on how much work they need to do.
That being said, they probably won’t do it outside of campaign; but it’d be cool all the same. It’s one of the things I hope they bring back for Infinite, like the squad mechanics. Yes, I enjoyed them. I want to play with Blue Team again… The whole team. Linda and Fred and Kelly all together. (But I’d like to be with Buck again too. He’s always awesome to have around!)
I think since the edges of the screen are hard to see trough it would hinder pros a bit and not to mention there are 200+ helmets which means there has to be 200+ different huds.
This is actually not a bad idea. And maybe have color lightly affect the hud.
not a bad idea but then for some helmets like the venator helm type is it more looking wierd then with the hud i think
It would be great, it would give a more realistic detail but this implies doing it for all the armors and it would take quite a while of 343 and time is money. but I would like to see it

The lack of HUD customization in Halo 5 was just a huge missed opportunity. They went through all that work making a different HUD display for each spartan, yet in multiplayer they force every player to use the same exact one? lol
If they use common sense, HUD customization should be a no brainer in Halo Infinite, especially since they hinted that it will use a similar customization model as Halo Reach.
