Visible Ranking System Vote

I’m just going to make this short and sweet. I appreciate the ranking system that has come out, but it does not make any sense to only be able to view you’re ranking while you are playing. Is it too hard to make a visible ranking system? One of the most fun parts of halo 3 and 2 was too see you’re ranking go up after a win and it made the game that much more fun and competitive. Sure some players do not want to play fully competitive, that’s why there were such things as social playlists for those people. I know a lot of people are upset that this has not occurred and I hope that something will be done about this. Vote down below what you think.

Sincerely, a gamer who wants the fun and competitiveness back.

They said the games code cant handle a visible ranking system. I find this hilarious , because in Halo 3 TU2 (I believe it was TU2) Bungie implemented an exp system that had a visible icon for each playlist along with the rank for ranked playlists to satisfy casual players. Apparently a old game made in 07 had better coding than this one… odd huh?

It’s not impossible, they said it wasn’t worth the dev time for the amount of work that it would require.

In response to your poll, I voted no. While I might have been tempted to vote yes, I played Halo 3 for about 10 hours last week and I was reminded of just how bad the abusing was in ranked playlists. The current system is fine, if not an improvement over the old system.

The ranking system isn’t going to be visible no matter how many people make threads for it on waypoint. They announced before CSR came out that it wouldn’t be visible. Also I am sure there are limitations like the UI if they have to rewrite a whole new UI just to put a number besides your name in-game than it isn’t worth the amount of resources and time.

To whoever said halo 3 had a huge abuse problem when they went back to it… Of course it does ranks were never reset. If ranks are reset in a cycle (as it has been hinted at they may be), then there would be less boosting for ranks. Someone wanting to buy their 50 would have no desire to buy an account and have it reset. Also, from what I have experienced so far, the ranking system in Halo 4 is much more forgiving then it was in Halo 2/3. However, that is just my opinion. I for one have no issue with the current system, but I do think it is a tad be inconvenient to have to look up my rank after every game. If they never implement a visible ranking system I wont be too upset, but I do hope 343 have seen the division of the community over the ranking system and address the issue in the next Halo.

Not really I have already seen a lot of people cheating. IMO if they have the ability to abuse the system they will even if the ranks get reset.

Literally what they did is update their website abit. CSR update has done nothing to the actual game. Nothing has changed for the actual game I bought. Let me rephrase that, they didnt update the game, they updated their website. CSR is literally NOWHERE to be found in Halo 4. Only on their website. It’s a complete joke. The situation at the moment is players switching between PC and console to get an update of their ranks. We need to be able to view ranks just like SR ranks in-game Halo 4.

But besides that the CSR doesn’t make any sense. Your stats are affected by join in progress game as far as I have read. So if you get matched into a game where it’s 250 to 0 the chances of gaining map control or winning is very low. Yet all your match stats are counted towards your profile. The desire to get higher ranks is thus completely denied.

It’s hard to accept a Rank System like this for people who enjoy true competitiveness and want to see the Ranks of their fellow players. They need to be able to compare ranks when they are in the lobby in-game. Not when they go on their PC’s.

At the very least I wish it updated faster.

CSR is always one game behind. For being web based, that shouldn’t be happening. Not only do you need a computer to view it, but it’s also inaccurate when you do view it?

To be fair they have edited their JIP parameters so you don’t get placed into games that are almost over.
