I usually don’t go out of my way like this for any video game but…
PLEASE 343 give us competitive players the OPTION for the Halo2/3 ranking system again!!! I can’t stress enough how much I enjoyed it in years past, and don’t see a need to play a different style of COD like Halo 4.
I think you are totally underestimating the importance of this, and it would revitalize the game completetly! I miss the ranking system more than you can imagine and so do all my friends!
PLEASE don’t make me wait till Halo 5…

wont happen 343 doesnt care, there have been hundreds of other threads pleading for the same thing… with hundreds of likes, but 343 ignores it… if they dont want to do it, it wont happen, doesnt matter what we want.
CSR is the exact same thing as Halo 3’s 1-50 other than it not being viewable in game and I don’t think it has to be in there either. As long as there is a ranking that we can check I’m good and there are plenty of ways to check your CSR rank.
Also what I don’t get is how many of you self proclaimed competitives say that not having it in game sucks and you don’t want to use your mobiles or computers to check your rank. But yet you same people love to regale about how you guys constantly checked leaderboards on B.net or how you would check the progress bar for your rank in H2. You are doing the same thing with CSR on Waypoint.
having it on waypoint defeats the whole purpose of having ranks…
in halo 3 the best thing about having ranks was the fact that you could see what lvl everyone else in the lobby was before the game started…
there is no way in hell you will be able to get on your computer and search 7 other peoples rank before the game starts… theres just no way, especially for me cause i use my computer monitor to play xbox, so i would have to disconnect my xbox and reconnect my computer, pain in the -Yoink-…
i also am not going to want to do this after every game to see if my rank changed… this csr is going to be exactly like reach’s bpr… which no one gave two craps about
the only difference is 343 is wasting 6 months on trying to perfect something that no one is going to care for unless its in game…

I mean lets just cut straight to the point. As much as anyone says they dont care that other people see their ranks… they do. Thats really why it is desired in game. People want to see where they stack up in comparison to the other people in the lobby. With the current plans for CSR you will be able to see your rank but it would be a pretty big pain to look up everyone in the lobbies CSR.
I just fall on the side of, what is so wrong about wanting to see your rank in comparison to those you are playing with?
I dont know, I just feel like the reasoning they gave (to reduce cheating) isnt going to change anything. People will still cheat just as they are right now.

That’s not 100% true. They have been listening to some of the complaints and recently started fixing MP. Albeit, a little late to the party but better than nothing at all. They have heard us about Boltshot and added in a few playlists that the community wanted so you can’t exactly say they haven’t done anything.

It doesn’t defeat the purpose of ranks and I even used H2 and B.net as an example.
You don’t need to check everybody’s rank. CSR is exactly like H3’s 1-50 so you should know where they stand when you are playing them.
If its that big of a problem to consistently check your rank while playing just wait until your play session is done to check.
I understand their reasons for not letting you view other people’s ranks in game: what I don’t understand is why they won’t let us see our own ranks in-game.
Surely the problems they stated with in-game ranks would not be so rampant if we aren’t able to see each other’s ranks in game.
In Game ranking system would be awesome, but 343i think that taking it outa the game will reduce cheating, IMO a cheater is a cheater regardless of a ranking system or not. In halo 4 u can see the K/D spreed and guess what, people are cheating by boosting it, but isn’t boosting what 343i didn’t want, well guess what its going to happen regardless of a ranking system or not so 343i why not just give us what we want.
Its not about what we want. If it was then we wouldnt of gotten this game that resembles Halo. Its what they want. Its what they think is best for us.
People say that 343 are listening to us and are doing things for us… after 4 months. If I ask a business to do something for me and they finally do it 4 MONTHS LATER, do you really think they care about me. That they are listening to me. The fact they are even making changes isnt because they finally get it, its to shut us up.
They didnt of a sudden realized, oh crap, they wanted weapons on the map, and friendly fire, and no sprint, AA, instant respawn. We had no idea! Of course they knew. This isnt a new franchise. They obviously knew this would upset people, but probably thought people would be grateful just because it has Halo on the title.
The simple fact is this: Casual stick with the game for a month while the competitive stick with it for months and years. So which part of the game was finished and which part wasnt. Casual part was done, now time to work on the competitive part since they think we wont go anywhere. Guess what? Gears: Judgement is coming and Halo can die its slow and painful death.
