Essentially one great prize, which 99.999% of players have zero chance of winning.
Virtually zero explanation how the scoring system actually works.
Obvious boosting.
Terrible playlists, but still put in play in hopes they will catch on and gain popularity, which they won’t, accept it, they’ve failed. Ie Regicide.
Doesn’t reward skill as much as it does time played.
Most alarming, its just a mindless, play as much as you can tournament to help boost the fading online population, by dangling a “prize” which the majority of players are too stupid to realize they no chance to really win. Basically it’s just a ploy to hoax dullards to play more. Simple as that.
Yeah, I absolutely hate tournaments based on playtime - but the thing is I can’t really understand how this tournament is scored, it’s not like they give you a great explanation, at least from what I’ve seen. I would prefer to have a tournament whose scoring is based on your average in-game score during 1 hour of tournament play per day, followed by bracketing the top 100 or something like that. Otherwise you end up w/ people sharing accounts and playing 24-7.
Also, does anyone know if TrueSkill is off for the tournaments? I’ve had a lot of completely unbalanced games this week: in one game we win 600 to 150 and then in the next it’s reversed. I’ve been paired multiple times with people who are SR-1 and actually look like they’ve never played before. Then the next thing you know it’s like I’m playing against Dev Gru, going against coordinated attacks from multiple sides while my team groups up like a bunch of sheep and just hands the other side multi kill after multi kill, which leads to weapons drops and more outright murder. It’s been a weird week in the tournaments…
I can’t wait for it to be over the games consist of to many try yards lol I literally was pushed to use a boltshot because every game I played the whole team would have it…it’s sad really
The premis behind it is a good one, giving anyone and everyone a change to win a prize and not just the “elite” players. The real problem with it is that the tournament was scheduled at the worst time possible. With so few maps, so many broken features, and a complete lack of any kind of “balance” patch it makes the tourney a joke. Coupled with that is the extremely lax rules which promotes boosting and TK’ing for higher scores, they combine to make the entire thing laughable at best.
Its not so much that I believe the prize is a scam, just realistically it’s all but impossible to ever win. Unless you are a great player ANNND most importantly are unemployed and can play this 15-20 hrs a day, for a month. Even then you have to compete with cheaters who may go undetected. And furthermore there was never any mention of how the tournament was actually scored… Basically the whole premise reeks of a lazily put together gimmick to help boost the online population numbers.
Personally I wish they didnt bother with it, its essentially a waste of time, but a part of me thinks/hopes they put it in place to bide some time, to hopefully work on/fix some of the games burning issues/problems in the meantime. So when the tourney concludes hopefully they’ve resolved em. Don’t want to get into them, but we all know what they are.
The whole competition is a joke. Fancy having a comp that rewards time played, that’s a great message to send out. It’s certainly given me negative thoughts towards -Yoink!-, which is the opposite of what they were trying to achieve.
Oh, and Regicide isn’t a failure. Well FFA Regicide is, but Team Regicide is great fun.
The whole competition (challenge) in my opinion is a complete scam. I am not that great of a player, decent at best, but not great, and I played 8 hours straight and got just over 10,000 points, as I wanted to see what my score would be. I do not see how any player can get 50,000+ points per day, unless you re boosting or cheating. Total scam and a waste of time!
I was hoping for a more regulated (monitored) competition, but I guess I am just a dreamer. Oh well. I am done playing Halo 4 online till they add Snipers back, if they ever do.

Snipers is back. Just go into any BTB match. It’s a standoff at 200m with everyone using the DMS.
