Vibration on/ Vibration off.

Hey guys just looking for opinions on this matter.

I have played Halo ever since I was 6 (I’m almost 22 now) and I have always played with vibration on.

Recently I decided to turn it off and played some Halo 3 multiplayer matches and I saw my accuracy improving in a noticeable way, especially due to work/university I have not been able to play as much as I would like to. Naturally, this leads to some wonky aiming but I was surprised with how much not having vibration on can help.

Has anyone else had an experience like this?

I’ve always seen it as a distraction when it comes to online play, I’d probably say I play better without it enabled.

I actually play a lot worse without it enabled, lol. Especially when my controller is running low on batteries. The lack of a rumble whenever I shoot the BR is really unusual.

Heard multiple people say they play with vibration off. It makes sense that you would play better without vibration on since you don’t have inconsistent forces messing with your aim. Knowing this, I still play with vibration enabled because games feel weird without it enabled haha.

I only play well with vibration on.

I’m exactly the same. I don’t think I’d be able to play without it enabled, or it would take a really long time to get used to it and I don’t want to go through that. I’m fine with vibration on and I kind of like the added immersion.

I don’t know what you guys hear but I have it on

Play with it off since it helps with aim and it doesn’t help drain my batteries.

I didn’t even know this was an option lol. I just always noticed that when my controller batteries ran low, the vibrations stopped to save battery life. I like having the feedback while playing. Gives me an instant notification that I’m being shot at.

Yep it surprised me too. I used to play with it on but was suggested to take it off. Gave it a shot because why not and it felt weird at first for a little while but once you get used to it it’s definitely better than on.

Played a game without it yesterday and ended up with 7 kills in H3 BR slayer…

I play competitively and vibration is a no go. It just adds extra things for your brain to think about. You’ll likely see an improvement due to less stress in a gunfight.

It’s the opposite for me. Vibration gets automatically turned off when my batteries are low, and I suck at the game when that happens.
Vibrations give me so many warnings and indications while playing, tells me when I’m taking damage, tells be when there are near by explosions etc. it really makes me way more aware of the game. I don’t get stressed by it. I get stressed without it.

I keep the vibration on

Agreed. The immersion factor is important.

I play with vibration on for two reasons. The first is because I feel more immersed. The second is when I play with vibration off I don’t realize how much I am being shot because I’m not looking at my health constantly. I can count the vibrations to know how much health I have left without having to fight and look at the bar simultaneously.

For as long as I can remember, I turn off vibration (Halo or any other games). I feel more “focused” without the controller shaking here and there at times. And I’m just as immersed and love the gameplay without any haptic feedback.

I used to play with impulse triggers and vibration on but decided to try them without it on and it did feel weird at first but firing at a target with precision felt easier and ever since then I’ve had vibration off for every game I play which feels better in my opinion

i never have vibration on

Yes I also play with vibration off, at first it was kinda weird cause I was used to feeling vibration, but with it off, you tend to do less micro movement in your fingers or hands which help out on keeping your aim steady. Keep in mind your body always is vibrating and making micro movements so its not gone completely but turning off controller vibration helps decrease that excessive amount of micro movement to help out on your accuracy. Now something for fun, when you’ve been playing with no vibration long enough, try turning it back on and you’ll feel weird just as the day you turned vibration off.
