Veto system = more fun

343 I’m BEGGING you to bring the veto system back. When I search social 4v4 with my friends we want to MOSTLY play our classic favorite halo 3 maps (guardian, narrows, pit, construct, heretic). I can appreciate the new additions and some of the fringe maps for variety. But please let us vote if we don’t want to play a map. Getting map rotations like icebox → waterfall → orbital → cold storage → edge absolutely kills our fun and makes us not want to play, which is crazy because the potential for fun is so high! Please let us veto a map if it is undesirable for the majority and then randomly select a different map. The randomness will still preserve variety but the undesirable maps will be played less often which equals more fun!

What is undesirable for you may not be so for others. I do not want people to dashboard because their veto did not count on a map they don’t like.

I agree 100% Veto should return.

P.S. Saying people will dashboard if they get something they don’t want isn’t an argument because they can do that now without a Veto system.

I agree, it also gives more of a chance to see other players in the lobby. MCC has basically gotten rid of pre-game under the idea that they want to get people into matches as fast as possible. But so much of the social experience is gone with that idea. With the 360 Halo games now being shut down, I think it’s imperative that MCC is given the social features that were present in those games.

Absolutely. And also bringing back Party Up would be fantastic.

YES! Please! I’d rather have voting but I’d be happy with veto. I hate just getting dumped into a random map without any choice.

This is a great idea. I play a lot of Reach and for some reason I have to suffer through god-awful maps like Select and Uplink in multiplayer and Waterfront and Overlook in firefight, not to mention gametypes like fist- and nadefight. In OG Reach those would have been vetoed at least 95% of the time. How hard could a veto feature be to implement?

i disagree while veto is still beter then voting , it also leads that certain maps and modes are practically never played. one match youl get a map you dont like the next one you get one you like. they are also not completly random selecting any map there is weighting chances what map or mode will be selected wich is based on community feedback and popularity. with the match composer we have quite a lot of choice of what we want to play , let the wiggle room there so we can experience the content at full. plus there is custom games browser, if they figure out a system where one can get xp in custom games i guess they would get a lot more popular. i can understand ones fustration when the majority gets once or twice a map they dont like , but i am happy that i get certain maps at all. so i like the current system alone for this.

So screw the other players who want to play on different maps right? Let’s bring back playing on the same maps over and over and over…and then when a map comes up where the vote isn’t going our way we can dashboard quit and make every one search again or play short handed… Yeah good times… SMH… Why take that step backwards in matchmaking. What they need to do is make it so we can turn maps and game types on and off in the composer. That way you always get the maps and games you want with out the lame voting/vetoing.

I hate this map and it sucks how often it seems to be chosen from the ‘randomized’ map pool.

No it isn’t and there is nothing fun about being forced to play the same repetitive map over and over. If you only want to play a few specific maps then just go play custom games.

I never played this map in OG reach ever. Not once and I played hundreds - possibly thousands - of games in playlists where it would have potentially appeared. This god-forsaken boring map seems to come up more often than staples such as sword base and countdown.

Disagree, With a veto system some maps/game modes kinda just vanish. I prefer to just be able to play all that’s available. The match composer system is actually amazing. If I feel a bit sick of a game type I can just turn it off.

If for some reason, the games are becoming a bit stale, just deselect the games and modes you don’t like. If this is still not good enough, then, that is what the custom game browser was made for.

I personally don’t like the veto system much. It’s more tolerable than voting, but still leads to the most popular maps being played repeatedly. I prefer random maps because there’s at least a chance of some variation.

Same here, never once. According to the digging I have done, apparently it was there for a long time though. I was actually really surprised to see it the first time I played it in MCC Reach. Now I loathe it.

No thanks. The h3 players ruined that. Also like others have said like on reach you end up only playing the same maps/gametypes. When we had voting gephyrophobia was a map you would never play.

I don’t want anymore reasons to have afkers and quitters because of votes/vetos.

They could at least bring veto back to firefight.
(And increase the difficulty)
I uninstalled mcc mostly because of this.
Every now and then waterfront is ok. Like 1 game out of 25.

Final straw for me was finally getting beachhead, after like a hundred games, and it was swords and hammers.

Looks like you forgot a zero or two at the end there in regards to the waterfront ratio. I get beachhead all the time, my issue is never getting holdout. Like you, the last time I got it it was also hammer/sword…what a waste of a game. Nobody wants to play that.

I understand Vote being removed since it wouldn’t even really work with the composer system, but VETO is almost a necessity at this point.

it would cut down on the amount of quitters in a second as nobody wants to be forced to play maps and modes on loop just to appease a minority, and then be punished for taking a breather from getting stuck on the same 2 maps consistently.
