How do you feel about the Halo 4 gametype/map selecting system?
I feel like the new system is good, but it means the same maps get picked over and over again. The community favourites are constantly picked and the other maps/gametypes are overlooked and ignored.
I preferred the Halo 2/3 system where you would be presented with a gametype and could choose to keep or skip. By not knowing what the other gametype would be you would end up on playing a better variety of maps and gametypes.

I would much rather have the new system. Never again do I have to hear the many high pitched screams of “Veto”.

> Sorry, I guess I didn’t see where they explained it. What is the new voting system?
Theres only 3 options when you vote for a match and theres no veto. So you either vote or you dont. The question remains what happens in the event of a tie

I rather not have people changing their vote 10 times per second so I don’t know which is about to win.

Well i personally like the community favored maps and gametypes since they r the best ones. I wouldnt want to play what i dont like and this would cause way more quitting. So new system is good for me.
It’s not a bad system, but I do think there could be some problems.
I foresee people quitting just because they didn’t get the map they voted for.
I also agree with the OP that we’ll probably see the same maps over and over after a while. At first it won’t be a problem because people will want to try all the maps, but once the newness wears off, there will be clear favorites voted for all the time.

With the new system you can see the alternatives at least.
It’s fine, in Halo: Reach I’m more than 90% of the time happy with the map and gametype.
I’ve also been playing Halo 3 this week and we literally were never happy with the maps and gametypes we got…

Or xXMLGPRO1998Xx’s heartfelt renditions of “Veto Las Vegas”.

Someone didn’t play Reach very often (or has terrible taste in maps/gametypes)…
How many times was Hemorrhage voted for?
I kid you not, Slayer on Swordbase got voted for over Slayer DMRs on Asylum yesterday…wtf?

This. The worst maps and gametypes were ALWAYS chosen in reach! Hemorrage, sword base, etc etc. Slayer over slayer DMR’s. So tired of them.

Ever considerd that some people like different maps and gametypes? Many of my friends actually prefer maps like Uncaged, Sword Base, Powerhouse, etc… While I love Asylum, Zealot and sometimes Boardwalk. And if I play with my team (that’s like 97% of my games), we will always get the maps we like. You can’t expect to get the map you want when you play alone.
