Veteran 10 Senisitivty player to 4 Sensitivity.

Hey Guys,

I am a veteran Halo player who has played Halo since the first Halo came out.
Since day one i have played on 10 sensitivty and became very used to it.
I could keep up with MLG players i became actually very good in the Halo games.

As of yesterday i have finally made the choice to go back to lower sensitivty as my goal is to play with the Pro’s.
In normal Online games with average players 10 sensitivity is very handy because theres no real team play and no call outs.

I find that sensitivty comes out handy in just a very fe cases when playing on pro level as the consistency of your shots is the most important.

After playing one day on 4 sensitivity i really improved on my shots consistency in long range cases. On short to mid range 1v1 cases i could keep up easy hitting all/most of the shots but on long range it became very hard.

It is a weird feeling tho playing on 4 sensitivity after years of playing on 10 the slow movements make me feel really nooby and uncomfortable.
I just have to suck it up because i want to play with the best of the best.

I Always wanted to be one of the bests with 10 sensitivity but this a near impossible mission.
I’d say if you would like to just play social and ranked games forever and not aiming to become a pro you could keep using 10 sensitivty. If youre aiming to become a pro i’d adviceyou to lower your sensitivity. Im not saying it’s impossible to become a pro with 10 sensitivty… but it will be much and much harder than becomming a pro with low sensitivity.

Another advice for you guys is to play on another button layout. I myself use “Bumper Jumper” this will help you A LOT! in games because you’ll be possible to jump and aim at the same time because your finger doesnt have to leave the Aim button. When i made the choice to change to bumper jumper i played a couple of days like -Yoink- andit was hard to get used to it. But its absolutely worth it ! I could never imagine going back as theres only disadvantage in going back.

So as of now im going to try playing for some time with 4 Sensitivity and see where i can get my halo career. If i fail ill just go back on 10 for fun online plays
PS: Don’t base my level on my rank this is my main account that i share with 2 brothers. I myselfs mostly play on different accounts xD

Well this is my story, i’d like to see your guys thoughts about this.

Have a nice day !

A lower sensitivity is definitely the way to go, I currently am rocking a 2 sens and 5 accel send and my aim is slowly but surely improving, good luck with the switch!

Thanks man !

I’d be so lost on 10. The highest I’ve ever gone is 5 on 3 or Reach I can’t remember. I’ve almost always since CE played between 2-4 (2 being when I really feel I need to work on my shot)

Yeah 10 sensitivity is pretty hard to control. Even if i played everyday on 10 i Always needed to warm up 1 or 2 games to get my aim right if i stopped playing for a couple of hours. Everyone can adapt it tho just needs time. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not sure I get the point of this thread.

There’s no point to be made really thats why i put it in the general thread. And im am curious to see if there are some 10 sens players that disagree that 10 sens works better in Competitive plays. :stuck_out_tongue:

Really? I saw this thread in the halo 5 section? I’m so confused…

I disagree, the premise should probably be “play what is best for you”. Be it should be 10 sens or any sens for the matter, as I am a 10 sens player, and my pistol and snipe shots are fairly consistent. And by running 10 sens, it allows me to react quicker by trading beat downs and hitting quickscopes, or reacting to players strafes and etc. Rarely any pro runs 10 sensitivity is because due to their controller and monitor setup. 10 for me is, like how Pros play at 4-5 sensitivity with their controllers. I however and pretty budget, and run with a 2011 Samsung Monitor and a Razer Wildcat.

TL; DR - Play what you feel comfortable with, and not what people should tell you how to play, or what layout you should play.

P.S. Not all pros play Bumper Jumper, some actually CLAW and use default controls or recon.

Yeah i know i play claw too as a habit of CoD not having bumper jumper… I gotta say im very good with 10 sensitivity too only the long range shots it becomes a lot harder to hit consistent shots when someone thrusts or something. And as of now theres no HCS player that plays on 10 sensitivity… Like i said i don’t think its impossible but it becomes a lot harder i think

I play on the highest possible settings across all game modes in Halo 5. I simply hated the fact that my own aim couldn’t keep up with my own reactions. Sure it was difficult to handle at first, but now I’m very accustomed to very high / max settings. Anything lower will throw me off entirely. Of course, my dead zones are set to 0%.

Because of this, I have a lot more leniency in my shots in close quarters (though I’m no slouch at mid-long range), I can check my surroundings faster, adapt to any weapon with relative ease, and I can quickly react to somebody who is attacking me (from behind). Close quarters are a breeze (especially during Infection), and sniping isn’t too much of an issue either, once you learn how to “track” your opponents.

I love me some windmill aim. :stuck_out_tongue:
