Very worrying quotes in the Bulletin.......

Chris on the Beam Rifle:
"the fastest of the snipers and if you manage the heat state of the gun, you can get off all shots in quick succession without an overheat or reload. One other pro-tip on this one: it’s the best sniper rifle for hip shots in Halo 4! "

._.
Awful, just awful. I don’t even know where to begin with this one so I won’t even bother…

On the Energy Sword:
Important changes include making it swing much faster than it has in the past
“when sprinting with normal weapons, if opponents shoot you, the shots will slow you down a tad. A sword wielding player is immune to this!”

:frowning:
Sounds like Reach, but worse.

On the Concussion rifle ( Why 343?):
“The biggest change to the Halo 4 Concussion Rifle are the stronger physics impulses from the explosions along with faster projectile speed, which makes it work better in more open spaces and from a longer distance.

As if the host rifle wasn’t irritating enough in Reach…

The Sword really wasn’t bad in Reach at all, as long as you weren’t stupid enough to get close.

Thanks for the tips. Glad to know someone better than me is willing to help out a scrub like me.

Lmao, sorrrryyyy. But really, i mean, i’m sure when they say the Beam Rifle is the best sniper for firing from the hip they don’t mean you can whip around and kill people as easily as you could with a BR or DMR.

They sound like they know what they’re doing, in my opinion. It’s a faster paced game, therefore some changes must be made to the weapon sandbox.

I personally love the Concussion Rifle. Nothing more satisfying that blowing a Warthog off the side of a cliff with one!

once again…I am glad I play this game for the campaign component only

It seems like kill times have been increased for everything. Making the game more faster.

Poop players are going to be getting dominated.

As for the Sword, I do believe the lunge distance has been decreased, so you have to get in a lot closer before being able to lunge.

If you only play for campaign I feel sorry for you. You’re missing a huge part of the experience that is and what makes Halo Halo.

I usually play the Campaign once, then play it through with friends sometimes…other than that i just play multiplayer 24/7

I assume that means you don’t have to pace your shots quite as much as you used to, to avoid the overheat, not you can hip fire spam the weapon… Surely.

I not entirely sure so correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought the beam rifle in Halo 3 worked like that too. The energy sword/sprint combo might become a problem, 343 will have to keep an eye on that one. If what the one person said about the lunge distance being reduced is true though, it might work out alright. As for the concussion rifle, I’m just going to look at it like a brute shot. With the DMR, BR, Carbine, and magnum though, anyone with the concussion rifle is still probably going to get dominated.

I honestly don’t know what to expect from the multiplayer.

The Beam rifle has always been the better hip-shot sniper rifle.

The sword sounds kinda rediculous. And the concussion rifle is a brute shot. I never understood how people thought it was anymore irritating.

It is true that the Sword lunge distance is vastly decreased, lunge cant be done from 10 ft away in Halo 4, best way to survive is if you see anyone with the sword keep your distance, from the gameplay videos released thus for it seems pretty harmless if there not in your face. The Beam Rifle seems the same as Halo 3’s, you cant spam fire it because after 2 shots it will overheat leaving you extremely vulnerable, you always have to pace your shots with it, its no where as easy to use at distance as the Sniper Rifle. I’m not to worried about the Concussion Rifle, in gameplay vids it seems more tame than Reach’s, seems to me to play alot like the Brute Shot in most ways instead of a portable roller coaster. In Reach it was crap at long distances, and still seems weak at long distances, like was noted its more of weapon meant for distraction, and isnt as effective against vehicles either now.

I feel multiplayer will be quite diverse but not much different from H2, H3, Sprint seems to be the most useful AA so itll be interesting to see the different strategys it will create now with it being there for everyone.

> I honestly don’t know what to expect from the multiplayer.

This what happens when the general public doesn’t receive a demo or beta to try out.

The beam rifle has always been better for no scoping

Faster firing time and projectiles. Also, it shoots pink.

From past experience, the beam rifle has been the easier sniper to no scope with in halo 2 and and halo 3 compared to the sniper rifle. It doesn’t mean that everyone can no-scope though and made.me a “pro” with them.

Sword.seems to have its lunge reduced by a lot.from gameplay vids. I’m hoping they are planning to keep the lunge distance short so that they encourage people to sprint, while situational aware people can see it coming, and can use their AA to help combat it. At least that’s what I think they are trying to do.

Concussion rifle seems to have changed more into a brute shot. We move faster and have much more mobility with sprint and other AAs that allows to move around faster. Makes sense.

MINDBLOWN

I hope 343i is trolling us with this one…

I’m glad to see that the Covenant’s technology is equally powerful, if not more, than the UNSC’s. They’re much more advanced than us and deserve some powerful weapons.

343 … This game is starting to sound worse than Reach …

I found this quote to be quite ironic

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”
