I, like a large number of smartphone owners, do not have a windows phone 7, which gives hardcore Microsoft fans an unfair advantage with the ability to use ATLAS. Should we expect to see an iOS or mobile web version of ATLAS as well?
knowing power weapon locations honestly isn’t that big of a deal. if you want to learn the spawns, forge and custom games are right there.
Firstly, what is Atlas?
Anyway, Windows Phone 7 beats Android and iOS5 totally with the new mango update. Microsoft are just encouraging more people to come out of their little shell and try out a more superior operating system on the mobile. It’s also giving Windows Phone Marketplace more apps and The App store -1 app. I’m an iPhone 4S owner.
Yeah, I’m talking more about team coordination, not as much about weapon locations. I’m a jack of all trades, and honestly, I just give the power weapons to my friends if I’m not fantastic with them.
Also, couldn’t a person just sign in a guest of a dummy account, put it on the enemy team, and use it to spy on his enemies? He wouldn’t even need to use the 2nd controller. Atlas is cool, but it either needs to be for everybody, or nobody.
I don’t have a smart phone nor do I want one. Honestly I don’t think that ATLAS will make a noticable impact on gameplay. Its good for brushing up on weapon locations on certian maps you may not play on too often. Other than that, it probably won’t be a game changer.
I don’t see ATLAS giving any major benefit other than looking cool.
I already know where the weapons spawn, and I can just turn around to see where teammates are at.

If you need ATLAS and have been playing Halo in general for years, than something is wrong here.
ATLAS is going to be used by new players and besides looking back at your phone and tv will only make you play even worse.
ATLAS is not going to give any person a distinct advantage that could not otherwise be obtainable through simple learning. A good player knows where the power weapons are and when they will spawn - they know this without having to look at a different screen.
A good player knows where he or she is on the map.
A good player knows how to pay attention to his team, where they are, and if they are in trouble or not.
ATLAS won’t be giving any advantages. It is just a neat feature that is available to only certain people.
Come to think of it, it is a lot like the Kinect and the Analyze feature: it’s a cool feature but it can’t really tell you anything that you couldn’t find out otherwise.
I know that as a major Halo fan there is not likely to be anything in the Analyze function that produces information I did not already know.
How much of an advantage do you think it’s actually going to afford you? The simple acting of using it alone takes away your awareness of the game. And I’d be fairly willing to bet that for a lot of people it will lag behind; meaning that you’re liable to be acting on outdated intel.
It strikes me as more of a novelty than practical.
> unfair advantage with the ability to use ATLAS.
…really?
hahahaaahahahahaha
Get a coach. Plain and simple.

First the Kinect thing with CEA and now this? What is the community going to complain about next?

Anything and everything. Haters gonna hate lol.
> First the Kinect thing with CEA and now this? What is the community going to complain about next?
more importantly whats it doing in this section of the forum? this belongs in halo reach section and has nothing to do with CEA
Although I do not think i would use it, I do not like that Microsoft is making 343 not make the app for android or ios. Besides, I do not think that the addition of ATLAS would cause anybody to buy a windows 7 phone. I really hope that 343 makes it for android and ios soon, just so that microsoft does not continue to make 343 unable to make the app for other, non windows phones

Both iOS and android have a lot more features than wp7. Then their app stores are wayyyyy bigger and have more support from the developers.
I suggest you play alot more matchmaking, you will see that you dont need ATLAS whatsoever.

That is what I do. I got to forge or theater to spot where weapons are. Though I usually find them on my own while playing anyway.

Anyway, though ATLUS sounds really cool… I imagine you would be to busy playing a game to be looking on your Windows Phone. Just saying, Maybe between spawns but that is it. If I want to know where my teammates are, I look on my radar or look for their service tag.
