hi i am having an issue with halo 2 anniversary where on the hd graphics setting there are semi-transparent lines going vertically across the screen its only on the hd graphics setting. every other game in the collection looks and functions fine, is this normal?
any help is greatly appreciated. thanks.
This is definitely not normal. Can you take a screenshot and share (link) it here? Thanks.
notice the lines that look like pinstripes?
also as i said take note that they go away when you move to the classic graphics setting
and that halo ce anniversary halo 3, and 4 dont do that even though they are on the same game
Halo CE remastered don’t have this either? Do remastered cutscenes in Halo 2 have these lines? Looks like something went wrong with the remastered textures.
yeah the cutscenes have the lines
and halo ce remastered on hd and classic textures don’t have the lines
and its not the textures its like a glitch with the camera because when i move the camera the lines stay on the screen and move with the camera i dont know why if its the game or if its the console i hope its the former and not the latter
anyway i hope this offers a little more detail to my problem
Have you found a way to fix it I have the same problem it’s really annoying
no sadly man its a bug in some copys of the game i suppose so our only option is to either deal with it or try to sell it and buy another copy it sucks though dude honestly i’m glad to know that it isn’t my xbox isnt faulty or something
here’s to hoping 343 will recognize this as an issue eventually and patch it
EDIT: it is indeed all copy’s of the game so don’t worry about it i bought it digital just to see and the problem persists on 2 different xboxs on 2 different tvs
@cook2439 just to make sure we’re having the same issue though
for lack of a better description the lines are across your visor like they move with your character but they dont go away or change?
Have you tried removing the copy you have on the console, insert the disk, cancel the installation, go to the MS store and get the digital version installation there. You don’t have to pay for it, just get the digital copy there.
I played H2 Heroic last nite. Completed 6 maps. All video was great. No video issue seen. 1st gen xbox and 1080p projector for me.
No i have not this might just work thank you
Edit: Nope Still Does It
Do you have a different monitor or TV that you can connect the xbox too to see if the problem follows? Maybe a problem with the console HW or something on your monitor/TV.
yeah i’ve tried it on 3 tv’s each with a different hdmi cable and i tried it on a vga monitor with an adapter and they all yield similar results
Possible console issue…would have to try your disc in a different console unit possibly…
every other game in the collection works just fine, and so do all my other games im pretty sure its the disc if it was the xbox surely it would do it on halo ce anniversary or halo 5 or one of the others too right?
Possible issue with the game on 4K then. I know it works on 1080p and 720p for me. I don’t have 4K so problem could be there. You might try setting the console for 1080p and let the TV handle the video upgrade or I presume the TV can down shift to 1080p. See if using a lower video grade on the console does anything.
update: i recently bought a xbox one s with the same issue so i tried it with a original xbox one and a xbox one s and both have the same issue i think its the game at this point
I have an X1X now and had the game installed digitally with no issues. Redownloaded MCC on my 1X last night and haven’t checked the H2A engine yet.
Check and see if it’s also a campaign issue as well with the overlaying graphics engine. Multiplayer has only 1 engine running so see if it’s persistent into multiplayer games as well.
yeah the multiplayer doesnt have the issue i have concluded that it didnt go away on my xbox one and when i bought my xbox one s a few weeks ago i bought the game digitally and it does it on both xbox’s on two different tv’s and digital and disc so i am almost 100% sure its just the campaign and its just way more noticeable on my tv

I did Halo 2s Monopolized achievement and didn’t have the issue. It’s not the game especially when you’re using a digital copy. I’d have to say it’s the OG and S X1s not handling simultaneous graphics engines running on top of the game. May just be too much for them to handle tbh.
