I don’t understand why so many games these days have objective modes and people never play the objective. I always get the team that camps power positions and only goes for kills while the other team gets the flag with ease. They can’t protect their own and never go for the enemies, I’m the only one making an attempt. Whenever I tell them to go for the objective they get toxic and keep talking how I keep dying or how I don’t have many kills. Almost like I’m gonna die a lot when going for the flag when I’m the only one doing so. People do this in COD too. Like, how can you ruin such an amazing game series by doing the bare minimum and never helping your team out? Halo is literally garbage now cause like many other games people only give a crap about their KDR. As if anyone gives a crap about KDR, no one is gonna look at your profile to see your KDR. Really pisses me off. I hate gamers in the modern era, this sort of thing never happened when I played halo back in the day. Halo used to be fun and now it’s full of braindead people that make it boring. Hurr durr gotta get kills
It seems like people are getting dumber I agree. If I get a trash team I usually do bare minimum and camp till the game ends.
One thing they could do is make your K/D track only in Slayer-type gamemodes (SWAT included). If someone’s K/D doesn’t track in CTF, then they have no reason to go trying to pad their K/D in that match.

You only need one guy to run the flag/bomb, sit in the hill, hold the ball or whatever. If I was given a choice between a team of slayers only or a team of guys who didn’t shoot and just ran for the objective. I’d choose the slayers every time. 9 out of 10 times the team with the most kills wins the game.

I understand what you are trying to say here, but I think you are sorta missing OP’s point. He is complaining that his teammates never even consider the objective. If his team was posting up in logical positions that overlook the runner’s route while providing covering fire, that would be a decient strategy. However, it sounds to me like the majority of his team are camping in illogical positions (usually spots you would use for FFA), and only ever considering their own kills, never even trying to help with the objective. It also doesn’t help that they then become very defensive when he calls them out.
This is very frustrating for players who just want to have a fun time. I have never had this problem in Halo (the only objective gametype I play is Invasion), but like he said, this type of behavior plagues Call of Duty (and other competitive games like it).
But, you are correct in your point. You only need one player to run the objective, but you also need the rest of the team to support the runner.

Very well said. I totally agree with this sentiment. I’m usually the support player getting kills, but it’s pretty clear there are so many players who don’t understand they need to get kills in a way that helps the team get points.

This would be such a good solution. Kill stats in objective gametypes can be so meaningless if they’re not contributing to the objective.

Not sure if you’re being purposefully obtuse but “playing the objective” doesn’t mean “don’t shoot and run for the objective”.

No offence, but that isn’t what he’s saying at all, but if everyone on your team has taken up slayer-style camping positions, someone has to push the enemy to keep them on the back foot. Otherwise they just have the chance to force a flank, overwhelm one of your team and blast past with the flag.
Let alone like Strongholds, Territories or KOTH. I’ve literally had teams where I’m the only person who even goes anywhere near them.
Using a held objective to ambush incoming enemies is one thing but you have to actually get it to begin with and Strongholds/Territories unless you have a lead you can’t really rely on camping only one of them

Are you meaning to reply to someone else?
My comment was pro-“play the objective” and I feel like yours was too lol.

Then there’s husky raid….
Where everyone goes for the flag, but you’re constantly getting spawn camped while one guy takes the flag back.

Oh, and the rocket spam, because RNGJesus said “screw you!” And gave half of their team rocket launchers. (Once I got 2 of said weapon)
Objective game modes seem to suffer the same problems across all shooters .

Tell that to my teammates. Some players are all slay and no OBJ, but just as often if not more so, I get teammates who only run for the objective and don’t slay at all.
K/D padding.

I’d say a team of at least 3 should drive/walk each other to and from the flag offering supportive fire as they cap. One is just gonna get screwed over by flag/spawn campers
Articulated my feelings so well. Solo queuing in objective is not it.
