Vehicles that do "NOT" need to return

What vehicles don’t you think “need” to return in Halo Infinite?
Could be either vehicles you don’t like and really don’t want back , or just vehicles you wouldn’t mind having in the game but don’t feel is absolutely necessary.

"Personal opinions"

  • Mantis:
  • I never liked it, always thought it felt out of place, plus it was super boring to use. Though I know it’s very loved by other fans, so we can probably expect it to be back.*
  • Wasp
  • This was not a terrible idea, I don’t “hate” it, I just don’t think too many similar vehicles are necessary, especially not if some are objectively better than the others. and I by far prefer other variants.*
  • T58 Wraith
  • Soo… ugly…*
  • Falcon “OR” Hornet
  • While it would be cool to have these, again not necessary for me to have both of them, I would be more than happy with one or the other.*
  • Phaeton
  • Probably the least unique vehicle in all of Halo imo.*
  • I don’t really want the Prometheans to have a huge role in Infinite and if they do go that way there isn’t really a point in giving them vehicles.*

I don’t see anything Forerunner returning tbh.
The Wasp wasn’t memorable and the mantis always felt a bit out of place for Halo I’d say, but I don’t mind it staying if they put a Bungie-esque design on it. The Falcon is great though and I would love to see it return. We probably got to have some flying vehicles in the campaign as well.

So basically you just don’t like Halo 5

Pretty sure the wasp is coming back considering it’s in the cover art for the game. Obviously that’s subject to change but I doubt it’ll be scrapped.

As for what I don’t want to return, I’ve never been a huge fan of the Mantis. Just always felt a bit out of place in the UNSC Arsenal. Whilst it does look cool the practicality in game just never really struck me.

I actually don’t think there is a vehicle I don’t like, now I stop and think about it  I mean, sure, I don’t like it when they are used against me, lol, but overall I like each and every one.

The mantis is a pretty terrible vehicle I really wouldn’t care if they remove it.
All the new vehicle designs I would scrap, the Covenenat Banshees and Ghosts look like they need to go on a diet and the wraith is just straight up vile.
The new scorpion, again, it’s terrible and just looks boring, give me the old raised turret scorpion back.
Halo 5 warthog, looks ugly, I want the Halo CE warthog with modern day textures, YES PLEASE.

The Gungoose that wasn’t armed with a gun :thinking::thinking::thinking::man_shrugging::man_shrugging::man_shrugging::man_facepalming::man_facepalming::man_facepalming::man_facepalming: come on really a grenade launcher.

I also believe the Mantis probably doesn’t need to come back. It’s a nice lore idea but I hardly ever used it when given the option.

It may be slightly controversial but I’d rather the Gungoose stay and the Mongoose go. I find the mongoose to just paint a massive target on your head. While the gungoose is still a big “shoot me” sign, at least has some sort of defense against attackers. Still serves the same purpose as a transport vehicle but infinitely more useful.

All of these air vehicles don’t necessarily all need to come back. A light and medium gunship is all we really need. So Banshee, Hornet, and falcon are ok in my book but anything more feels a little overkill.

The rocket hog has proved time and time again to be pretty useless even as an anti-vehicle weapon. Either balance the hogs or get rid of the rocket variant.

Tanks are fine as they are I suppose.

I really liked the Mantis. The Wasp was also fun to use
.

Remove everything except the scout warthogs. They do need a huge nerf though. Mantis is out of place. I wouldn’t mind more halo wars vehicles. Rocket hogs are awful.

The current incarnation of the Rocket Hog is the big one for me. It’s not great against infantry, it’s pretty bad against vehicles and you’re forced to fire all the shots at once. It’s less like firing rockets and more like firing a bunch of Concussion Rifle shots with less damage and a larger blast radius. If they just made its rockets work like the Mantis’ rockets then I think it could be far better.

The only others ones I wouldn’t want to see return are the Halo 5 Wraith (just plain ugly) and the Grenade-Launcher Gungoose (too unwieldy to be effective).

I would say the Spectre. Love the design, but it’s basically just a weaker Warthog with an extra seat. I rather have the Revenant than with a stronger Canon on its back or a variant with something unique like a plasma flamethrower. Fast and deadly, but the driver is easily dealt with! Or at the very least the Prowler, it would also make more sense with the Brutes returning. It inverts driver and gunner seats, side troops are better protected as well, it’s just the better variation on a gameplay level!

In the same vain I would say the Vasp. Again, love the design, more than the Hornet even, but it’s way more redundant. Do we really need a more powerful Banshee? Also since whenare UNSC vehicles more mobile than Covi era ones? Sadly official images already confirm it exists. I rather had the Falcon back though! Transport, two deadly weapons on the side, but it required three people. It flies in more helicopter like paterns too giving it an unique spot and it requires team-work to become a dominant force on the battlefield. Maybe make the gunners more useful on a distance or let an extra passenger in to make it more available in object based modes. Other than that the Falcon was peak flying vehicle design in Halo imho! The Vasp is cool, but frankly an useless addition to the sandbox.

As for tanky flying beasts I hope to see the Blisterback over the Paethon. First of all it’s damn ugly… It looks like a human concept with floating bits attached too it, I’m really not a fan of its design. Also the Promethean vehicle is too deadly and mobile for being a one seat death device. The Blisterback would be an actual flying tank able to transport troops as well (lore wise the HW2 version has 8 seats, in Hi I would make it one driver, one turret gunner and three passengers if BTB 2.0 really is a thing). It fits the Banished theme way better too. Not to mention it can become a stationery mortar giving it an unique and fun role. The Phaeton on the other side won’t be missed. Not by me at least! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Mechs in general look out of place in Halo imo. They are my least favourite units in both HWs games as well, but that’s just personal taste. Plus H5 Forge made good use of the Mantis. Minotaur and Night of the Mantis anyone?! So I’m kind of split about them.

PS.: I also agree with you guys about the Wraiths. Covi vehicles in general are ugly as sin in H5G due to their new organic looks and lack of vibrant colors. That said I’m pretty sure we’re getting the Banished Wraith, with plates and spikes of course! I loved ramming units with those alien tanks, so satisfying. Such a great and brutish design too!

Can you blame him? :joy: Seriously though, it’s the worst game for vehicles in the series. Advanced mobility killed the transport factor and its copycat sandbox made it the least interesting one on top of that.

If there’s a mode similar to Warzone - I really hope the multiple variants of UNSC vehicles don’t return.

For example: Tundra Warthog, Urban Scorpion, Woodland Mantis, etc.

The ONI/Hannibal variants are fine though because they are unique.

my personnal one would the be rocket hog i feel its one of the most impractical vehicles we have in the arsenal because of the quite literal lack of aim most of the time.

Tbh I like practically every vehicle except for the phaeton. And as others said rockethog needs some sort of rework, doesn’t even function good as anti air. Don’t come after me but I prefer the halo wars 2/5 scorpion design.

I actually enjoyed the gameplay of the titan, I mean mantis. There was some good community created games as well surrounding them. I’m not sure what you guys mean by not “fitting” within halo.

Phaeton, 343 wraith design and wasp are the only ones I can think of that I wouldnt care about if they were left out.
