I’m noticing way too many ghosts and warthogs especially just constantly in play. You kill one, and two more pop up like a hydra head.
This would be tolerable, except there are only maybe 2-3 viable weapons to fight vehicles with on either side of the map, and the spawn timer is almost twice as long as vehicle spawn timers.
And even THAT would be tolerable, except ever since they boosted vehicle health, it takes more effort to kill them with said weapons, which means you usually run out of ammo after a fight or two.
All these issues are a result of poor balancing in almost every aspect of btb. The weapon layout needs tweaking, as well as a lot of the spawn timers. Vehicles have weird health and damage resistances. The AR and Sidekick are basically BB guns when you’re shooting a ghost or warthog, unless the driver is dumb enough to expose themselves. A lot of power weapons actually take most of their ammo pool to kill a single vehicle. Warthogs should not be able to tank two direct rockets and a whole 6 shot magazine of Cindershot ammo.
If you get the weapon layout that has a needler instead of a sentinel beam and a bulldog instead of a heatwave, you’re already at a disadvantage.
I don’t know why these things are so difficult to fix.
It’s not that they’re difficult to fix it that 343i don’t give a toss about BTB or the BTB community.
There is no money to be made with BTB, you never see BTB in any eSports competitions only 4v4 arena games. 343i have a proven track record of treating the BTB game mode and community with nothing but contempt.
Unfortunately this isn’t going to change any time soon.
Yup it’s highly annoying because some ppl that’s all they do is just run warthogs and as soon as they sue another one is up and you gotta take it out again. Same with the ghost. They definitely respawn way to quickly and that needs nerfed asap
Remember when a Plasma stick in H2 just nuked the entire vehicle or left it close death? Yea I miss that.
Also for the love of god, the Skewer doesn’t skewer anything. It just sticks out of the fronthood like a dart. If the Skewer hits the vehicle, it should straight up pop it if it’s not a Hog or Tank. If it’s a Hog, 2 skewers should instantly blow it.
Yeah I agree with that. If you stick a vehicle with the spike or plasma it short kill in 1 stick or put it extremely close to death. Plasma should almost always kill a vehicle. But I think to regular arms it should still be tough.
Yeah the skewer doesn’t do much to vehicles which doesn’t make sense. It’s supposed to be like the sniper version of a rocket launcher. Should kill anything on 1 hit. I kinda liked the eject feature in halo 4. Maybe if you instantly doomstate a vehicle then depending of the vehicle you fly out. Maybe causing a pancake medal. Only if it’s not a fatal shot.
I just find it straight up stupid with the Infinite vehicles’ “armor plates” and “weak spots”
Like take the damn Wasp, if you don’t nail the pilot seat or the propeller, you don’t do significant damage to the Wasp. But the dumb thing is, the propeller has plating on it you gotta pop the cap off first, and if you are firing from a low position, the Wasp pilot seat is hard to hit for the arcing projectile of the Skewer.
This just makes the dumb Wasp so tanky for no other reason than the Skewer just being unable to 1 shot it, and due to this, Wasp is just so much tankier than the Banshee which gets instagibbed by any sniping power weapon. Realistically, if I shoot the propeller with any sort of force, that Wasp may not explode but it should fall right to the ground cos it’s unable to maintain its flying mechanism.
This is just another classic game design example of “Coolness doesn’t matter if it’s not fun”
It’s cool that vehicles have weakpoints and such, but it’s not fun in practice, so it’s pointless.
What’s wrong here, is that you believe your personal opinion is the right opinion. You believe that everyone who experiences those aspects of BTB you mentioned differently from you, is wrong.
That’s not how opinions work, I enjoy how many vehicles there are, I think they’re fun. I’m not wrong to think that, you’re not wrong to believe what you believe either. What’s wrong is stating your beliefs as fact.
I don’t, because I think it’s perfectly enjoyable the way it is. If I remember correctly, you hate vehicles because you hate losing fights that aren’t fought on equal ground. Problem is, that’s one of the core aspects of BTB, many powerful pick-up weapons, many vehicles, that’s just what you sign up for when you queue up for a BTB game.
If you don’t like that, don’t queue up for it. Queue up for team slayer, ranked modes, tactical slayer, these modes all have the qualities you seek. There’s no reason to transform a mode that was intended to be different into something more in line with what you can already get from other modes.
I hate vehicles on a very personal, elemental level, and the most fun I have is when I destroy them. That’s the main reason I play btb.
But I’m addressing a common problem people have discussed with me in games and on discord, which is that vehicles are constantly in play instead of a resource like a power weapon. You don’t have to time them or control them.
And as I said, there are sparse ways to kill them so their frequency becomes an annoyance to anyone that isn’t only using them.
And in terms of weapons, that raises the issue of weapon drops being too frequent and too randomly powerful. I should NOT be given a free sniper from Odin Himself when I already have 30 kills with it.
I mean, there’s random fun and then there’s just plain insanity, and I can’t see how it would be fun to inexperienced or unskillful players to get dog walked so often by sheer bad luck.
Halo Infinite’s vehicles are weaker than any past Halo game. In order for BTB to actually be fun, the vehicles need to be stronger and there need to be more of them.
If you don’t like vehicles, don’t play BTB.
And if course I am right because my opinion is better than yours.
