I don’t understand this mindset, where 343 feels that vehicles need to become weaker as the anti-vehicular weapons become stronger and plentiful. The past couple of Halos have had left vehicles very weak, so weak in fact that almost all of them can be destroyed by a few well placed DMR or Sniper shots. That needs to go away, there is no way a DMR, BR or Sniper Rifle should be able to destroy a Banshee or even a tank. By having spawn weapons have such damaging effects on vehicles, it makes having the anti-vehicle weapons such as the Laser or Rocket Launcher useless to have, because why would I risk dying from a vehicle to go get the rockets or laser when I could just find a convenient camping spot and destroy them with my Sniper and the few grenades I spawned with. I not saying we should make vehicles invincible or make the driver unkillable while in the vehicle, I just don’t want my vehicle to die before I do by anti-infantry weapons. I would like to be able to snipe or br a guy out of the Banshee and have it not be a one shot kill when I try to steal it. 2 shots from my sniper should not damage the Scorpion to the point that fire is leaking from it. These vehicles were once forces to be reckoned with, there was a time were as skilled could jump in a Warthog equipped with the chain-gun turret and unleash unholy chaos on the other team before finally being taken out. Now a-days, even seeing the chain-gunned Warthog is a rarity, because many would prefer the Gauss Hog or Rocket Hog because they are the only ones that can kill fast enough before the hog is destroyed. Please 343 make vehicles powerful again, make the other team have to actually work to destroy it instead of them just DMR spamming the crap out of whatever vehicle is coming their way. Anti-vehicular weapons should be what combats vehicles not Anti-infantry.
Yeah in most Halo games the vehicles were something I hoped that I was lucky enough to use; in Halo 4 I avoid almost all of the vehicles just because it’s easier to get kills and stay alive as a ground unit. That’s just sad.
