Ghosts spatter way too easily compared to past Halo titles. It reminds me of Halo:CE where you die instantly if it so much as even touches you. In 2, 3, and 4, you pretty much had to nail someone at full speed to splatter. Hitting someone at a slow speed would take their shields down and knock them away from you. It is really annoying, especially since it seems the splatter box is larger than the hijack box at times.
Wraiths also splatter stupidly easy. I sometimes die from one moving without boost before the hijack option even shows up.
Scorpions need some sort of work. I think it should go back to Halo 2 and 3 where you have to bash the hatch open before you can toss in a grenade. The way it is now where you just toss a grenade and jump off it really stupid. They should give the gunner control of the turret of that is the case. My biggest issue with the instakill grenade on Mantises and Scorpions is that it takes absurd amounts of rockets, rail gun shots, Incineration shots, etc to kill either vs simply tossing a grenade. In Halo 2 and 3, it worked well because you had to bust the hatch open to toss in a grenade to blow up the tank. It also only took 1-2 rockets to kill a tank. I feel they should allow the pilot to get out of the tank while it is boarded if they are going to make killing it so easy.
Warthogs, kind of suck in Halo 5. The gunner has little to no protection. I find it really easy to 4-5 shot a gunner out of a warthog before they do any damage. I no longer fear seeing one like I did in past Halo games.
I feel like whoever worked on vehicle balancing needs to look at past Halo titles and see what worked or give the job to someone who can. Right now it feels like vehicles were rushed and only added because of Warzone.
What the Scorp needs is to be able to turn its turret in a different direction than the treads without the treads trying to auto-center on the turret. This would make the vehicle much easier to position, and thus much easier to avoid hijackers with.
I’d also like a slightly wider firing arc for the gunner seat so it can actually shoot off a hijacker who is on the front of the vehicle.
The vehicle that needs more help than anything is the Mantis, though. That thing’s health seems to be similar to that of a Warthog, but in a much larger and slower package. The shield seems to break as quickly as a Spartan’s shield.
I once Spartan charged a scorpion tank from the side that was stationary and it counted as a splatter
for the driver but I have hit other players dead on with ghosts and banshees only damaging their shields
then they board me and drive away laughing presumably.
Also the amount of times I have tried to board a tank only to get in their turret is enough to drive me crazy.
this should be fixed.
Finally someone agrees with me about the splattering. I hate it in this game. I was driving my take and some came up behind and I though well undead and they this there’s to catch up to and and bumped into the back of my scorpion and they does even though I was driving forward. And the ghost sometimes I jump and barely touch the top and I die.
One thing I’ve always felt really dulls the vehicles is the plasma pistol overcharge. Its like once the enemy finds out your in a vehicle, “oh, time to pull out the pp!” and then my vehicle experience is over. I feel this should get some sort of re working.
The ghost splatters spartans way too easily. In warzone, you can drive into a building, and if anyone gets near you, a tiny burst of acceleration is all it takes to kill them.
I would have to say that most of the vehicles are pretty underwhelming. Other than a banshee, I have no fear when I see a vehicle. Most of the vehicles have such a low health pool. I understand that concentrated fire can be a viable strategy to take down a vehicle but it makes the vehicles weak compared to previous halos.
Ghosts definitely need some splatter work. I’ve killed teammates several times on accident by just bumping into them.
I actually think that the wraith is fine. I see it more as a mobile tank that can splatter easier than a scorpion. It may be harder to fire at longer distances compared to a scorpion but a wraith has better crowd control.
I really agree with your tank and warthog analysis. Is it just me or does the warthog just suck? I have trouble finishing off a kill because of the precision aiming requirement. The low health pool sure doesn’t help. The only viable warthog is the ONI warthog. I really miss the Halo 3 warthog

Ghosts don’t splatter to easily. Get your awareness up. Also, you have sprint and thruster pack. If a ghost is trying to splatter you at, time it right and you always get the hijack. You have radar and everything, previous ghosts were a lot more dangerous.
Wraith are really underpowered now, but a tank boosting at you will splatter you. Also, it needs movement like that to even take on the scorpion. Dont rush a tank with boost head on…common sense.
I do agree about breaking the hatch open before the grenade. It’s way to quick when a hijacker takes out tanks, allies don’t even have time to shoot them off. Also, a grenade in unshielded control mechanisms and lots of ammunition…explains itself.
Warthog gunners are a little unprotected. This has to do with the gun being downsized, in previous games, the gunner had better shielding from the vehicle, there was less of their head sticking out and the gun’s base was wider.
I think that banshees/ghosts/Wraiths have to little health. Banshees used to be able to absorb damage, and same with ghosts. They required power weapons to kill.
Which is why you hardly ever see a splaser.
I challenge anyone to try and splatter me without using the gun’s on a ghost. Seriously, they are to easy to hijack.
I like the new Warthog how it moves, I think it’s fine. I think what they need to work on is obvious things like:
1.) The Ghost physics just seems off. You can get stuck on the smallest thing or when you hit a wall it’s like the game is boosting into the wall for you unable to pull away from it. 2.) Sometimes there’s an empty Gungoose sitting there & I hold “X” to get on it & for some reason it just sits on the back, yeah I want to get on the back by myself.
3.) Boarding the Scorpion either seems super easy sometimes or super difficult. Plus, it throws you in the gunner seat a ton instead of boarding or there’s times when I just want to get in a Wraith that is sitting there & it puts me in the Gunner.
4.) The Phaeton & Mantis really don’t seem that good for level 8 REQ’s. There’s been twice I’ve called in the Phaeton & it felt like it just died instantly.
5.) I think the Gungoose in general needs toned down, I think it ruins some BTB maps. It’s a low level REQ yet it will take out everything & it seems to have more armor than a Warthog. They need to make the hit detection better when you’re shooting the person on it, tone down the missles by like 1/4 damage.
6.) I think the Wraith shot needs to move just slightly faster or at a better arc, but it is a lower REQ cost than the Scorpion, so who knows.
7.) The regular Warthogs feel like they almost aren’t even worth calling in once anybody on the map has a BR because the BR’s are so good on the Dedicated Servers.
Oh hey now suddenly people believe that the vehicles in halo 5 are a joke aswell? Posted it over and over again, told everyone how terrible the physics are but people just kept saying how great everything is and what a great job 343 did on everything and this went on and on and on.
Fix the stupid boarding physics
Make it so you have to break open the hatch on the scorpion before you can throw the granade.
Fix the ghosts that suddenly learn how to fly after splattering 1 enemy
Fix it so when you press flip vehicle it actually flips one time and lands on the wheels or whatever it has instead of jumping and spinning.
And give the warthog gunner some protection already ffs, they are like a meat wall. Where is the protection i had in the previous halos?
And give the mongoose, warthog and ghost some weight they are like a piece of paper, And no adding weight to the vehicles wont stop you from doing your super fun and great “stunts” since you could do stunts with any vehicle in any previous halo game. (saying this because i actually had someone get mad at me for this LOL)
Also might wanna fix the tank controls.
I haven’t really bothered wasting my Oni Scorpions yet because I don’t want some guy in camo to pp me and stick a nade in them as soon as I roll them out of the garage.
I guess that the warthog needs a buff. The ghost splatter needs fixing… Wraiths could be better. Scorpions aren’t so bad. Gun geese are a little too good.
I might be one of the only people that is happy with the vehicles. The key is knowing how and when to use them, if you’re spawning and dying instantly in any vehicle you’re rushing into the wrong situations.

I especially agree with #3. The logic just doesn’t even make sense.
