Vehicles in Halo Infinite

So with each Halo game we get new vehicles to play with, but lately the vehicle sandbox has been suffering due to lowered HP, enhanced mobility and the potency of plasma and splinter grenades, regardless I want to see everyone’s top pick for new vehicles.

  • Cyclops - A single pilot vehicle that functions more like a giant exoskeleton, it’s only weapon is an autocannon that will two shot a spartan and deals high damage to vehicles. - Wolverine - three person vehicle: one driver, one AA missile pod gunner and one man for the self defense grenade launcher, the vehicle itself is tailor made for taking down Banshees - Vulture - two person crew but can hold 4 more for dropoff, one driver and one weapons crew, vehicle is slow but deals massive damage with twin autocannons and a rocket pod - Scarab - one driver and one gunner, slow with high health and can hold many other players - Mantis ( but improved ) current Mantis is just a solo powertrip with no teamplay so lets change that by making it a two person vehicle with one driver and one gunner, HOWEVER the Mantis can be piloted by one person but doing so will result in a slower movement speed and no access to missile pods.

I’d love to see the Banished Locust as an operable vehicle to counter the Mantis. It’s kind of a more sensible alternative to the Scarab, which could only really work as an operable vehicle in a scripted campaign sequence and wouldn’t really add anything to the sandbox. I’m all for Scarabs returning as enemy “boss battles”, though. Loved fighting then in Halo 3.

Single person piloted beam weapon vehicle sounds cool, should the beam have drop off or continue to infinity?

Seeing a Scarab in BTB would be epic but I probably wouldn’t use it unless it was good enough to get kills than just a transport vehicle, I vote for “Vulture” overall I could see myself using it and it would require more team work I think for example in CTF and could be destroyed more easily than a heavy armoured Scarab which anyone could use.

I don’t honestly see Halo Wars vehicles at launch, except the wolverine or jackrabbit (its a great alternative to the gungoose). Mainly since the vehicles are either in the game or a too specific and wouldn’t be useful in most circumstances. I also think the vulture and scarab are far too large for normal BtB. So for them its dependent on if Infinite has warzone style gamemode but with larger maps.
Elsewhere I would like a Forerunner tank. To make it unique I’d have it fire like 5s Binary rifle. The beam is direct and hit-scan and lasts at least 2 seconds. It kills a Spartan in 1 second and also has knockback, but it doesn’t destroy heavy vehicles (tanks, banshees, phaetons) in one shot.
Also a forerunne scout like the ghost or mongoose. Its fast but weakly armoured (3/4 the health of a mongoose). It also has a light hard light cannon, think H2a’s gungoose in fire rate and damage.

I’d love to see what the Banished have as a Warthog counterpart, like a Prowler or Specter. Considering the thrown-together look of most Banished vehicles the possibilities are nearly endless.

Also, they could add the Grunt Goblin as a counterpart to the Mantis. We’ve seen them in 2 games so far and they’ve never been drivable.

I’d also love to see some more Forerunner vehicles added in. Maybe they could add the Forerunner Tank cut from Halo 2, though maybe nerf it down from what Jason Jones described of it (there is such as a thing as too much “awesome”). It’d be neat to see some kind of transport vehicle as well, like a Transport Hog with a mounted weapon so you carry a small team across the map.

Just a transport hog with a driver and 3 ( or 5 ) more passengers, no mounted weapon as then it would outshine the warthog itself.

I guess some overheat mechanic like the sentinel beam and plasma rifle

I would like to see some of the Halo Wars vehicles like the wolverine, locust, cobra, vulture and the condor. It would be awesome.

i’d like to see a unique banished air vehicle

  • pelican and phantoms - troop carrier warthog (allow players to sit in the back) - elephant - longsword or shortsword (if possible, might be way too over powered. but would be fun to fly either) - scarab - Forklift (the most important and iconic vehicle of the Halo franchise)

Honestly just want the Tarantula variant of the scorpion…

343 introduced the Mantis in Halo 4 and the Phaeton in Halo 5. I hope they continue that streak and introduce other totally new vehicles in the game.
And they may have already teased one! In the E3 2018 trailer at 1:08 they show some sort of submarine. That would be awesome in the campaign for underwater exploration, combat against sea monsters and the Banished own naval units.

Derivable Longswords have always been a dream of mine, highly unlikely but hey… I wouldn’t mind a mission with one in Halo Infinite.
