Btb vehicle play is in a terrible place right now. Between the the fact one side can get a scorpion and the other can get a warthog, the neutral vehicle drop favoring one side over the other or the terrible controls of most of them, things really don’t feel right.
I have played 20+ btb maps and have only seen a scorpion 4 times and managed to get in one once… With 30 seconds left on the timer. No joke.
I witnessed a teammate lose a wraith because the tank dropped from the pelican, flipped and when it was flipped back up someone else took it.
Wraith ‘a ability to aim is terrible and the splash damage is non existent.
The banshee is hot garbage, controls like a flying brick and the dodge is terrible.
Scorpion is absolute good. The time in-between firing the cannon is slightly longer than past games but I think the blast is more powerful and bigger. It drives the same in my opinion.
Wraith Only had about less than minute in the Wraith. Was highly disappointed. The cannon does not fire a ball of death like before. It was really small compared to all previous Halo’s and because so, I was taken out by four players. Now I was in another game where the enemy had a Wraith bit with someone using the gunner. This made all the difference as a shield pops ustrong textp for the gunner giving extra protection and the wraith was lighting my team up before finally being taken down.
Rocket Hog also seems good from the few times I used it. Found out holding down the trigger to fire the weapons speeds up the shots faster then if you were to tap the trigger. For me definitely more effective randomly spamming rockets faster then trying for accurateness.
And Gungoose. IMO probably the strongest vehicle based on pound for pound. AbsoBRUTEly wrecks!!
Chopper please read my topic here for a good laugh. https://forums.halowaypoint.com/t/brute-chopper-feels-underwhelming/19180
The chopper is pretty much unusable. Gets flipped on its side and can’t move, just from trying to turn. Please tell me this will be fixed. Also it does almost no damage from ramming.
The warthog seems to be lacking mass, it feels “floaty”. This might apply to other vehicles as well, but it’s especially noticeable on the warthog.
Scorpions and wraiths are pretty much non-existent in BTB so I don’t even know how they handle yet.
This won’t happen, but I wish 343 would go back to the vehicle health system from 2 and 3. I think it would really help with map design since they have to cut off line of sight to vehicles pretty heavily because of the health system returning from Reach. Me and a lot of other people would really appreciate it if more open maps would return in BTB, instead of the relatively cramped maps we have now.
All the vehicles feel WEIGHTLESS. A -Yoink!- tree branch will flip the warthog. Every time someone drives me it’s like they’re drunk. The ghost is bad, the warthog is bad, and the mongoose just feels off.
