As you already know, the vehicles in Reach are made of cardboard and they get owned easily by DMR/Sniper fire. Would you like this feature to return, where certain guns own vehicles or have vehicle health tied to the Spartan who is driving/piloting? Or something else entirely different perhaps?
Also; what kind of balances would you like to see in all the vehicles for Halo 4?
Heavy vehicles like the tank can have a high damage resistance. I want tanks to act like tanks. I hate how weapons like the AR can damage them.
Medium vehicles like the Warthog can have a medium damage Resistance.
Light vehicles like the Mongoose can have a low damage resistance.
I wouldn’t mind if the vehicles have separate health. Like the Covenant vehicles in Halo Combat Evolved. I hate how if someone starts shooting the vehicle. Like the back tire. I start taking shield damage.

So make the tank OP?
Really the thing is near unstoppable in the right hands in Reach and still you want to buff it up?
Also, the vehicles do have their own health and it works better without the bar.
But I do agree on the Shield damage part. It’s kinda ridiculous.

It’s a tank it’ suppose to be OP
Just have more anti tank weapons on the maps that have the tanks.
What’s annoying is when you’re playing Combat Evolved. A Jackal would fire an over charge plasma bolt at the Warthog. You lose all your shields

In 3 to Reach (maybe even 2, can’t remember to far back) the EMP kinda explains that.
As even vehicles succumb to it.
Also if the scorpion gets a buff at least counter it with a negative trait.

ARs don’t do that much damage to tanks, even in Reach. I never see anyone own a tank with an AR alone (or have a bunch of people team shooting with ARs for that matter) against them. I think as far as tanks are concerned, they have pretty good damage resistance against most weapons that isn’t a DMR/Sniper/heavy weapon.
I do like the idea though. If you are not hit directly, then you take no damage you’re self but the vehicle does.
I don’t like my Warthog blowing up after 60 shots and there is nothing I can do about it. The skill ceiling in vehicles becomes extremely lowered due to this because you have a set life in that vehicle that can only decrease (Especially against coordinated teams who only focus on you, vehicles like the Warthog become near useless and a deathtrap).
Tying the vehicle health slightly to the player is the way to go. The vehicle should have a set amount of health, but when that health gets low enough the vehicle shouldn’t blow up, instead the occupants should take more damage (and less if that vehicle was brand new). This way you keep the skill ceiling for vehicles high while at the same time not nullifying coordinated team fire on enemy vehicles (Halo 3 and before).
