vehicles are underpowered?

I find it annoying that you can spawn with a plasma pistol and 3 plasma grenades. whenever I get in a warthog and drive into the fight, I immediately get bombarded, and it happens every time… ghosts are also a bit dumb because they are made of tissue paper!! I hope something like this changes soon.

Well, I don’t have the wheelman perk, but I find the Ghost to still be quite the powerhouse. Of course with so many anti-vehicle weapons readily available, you have to play very smart: don’t rush the enemy, act as support, keep your distance, and avoid large firefights.

The chaingun on the warthog needs a large buff however, I don’t see pathfinder improving it that much.

Vehicles simply aren’t the crutches that they were in the past, now they’re the same as any power weapon on the map and you have to be careful not to be overwhelmed by enemy players.

If your getting entire clips poured into your vehicles, you’re doing it wrong.

You don’t get to spawn with 3 plasma grenades…

It’s fantastic to be able to team shot down a vehicle -Yoink!-, cry more

Thanks to plasma pistol plasma nade off spawn, good drivers are encouraged to not splatter and keep a respectable distance. Can we reward this by a slightly tighter spread on its gunner? I’m already burst firing but damn… So many assists. My driver gets nothing for the assist I get.

If you’re driving a warthog/ghost/anything directly to the enemy base at the first of a match, you’re doing it wrong.

If you don’t understand how to use vehicles in this game, do your team a favor and let people who do use them instead.

IMO, the best way to fix this is to take Plasma Grenades and Plasma Pistols out of loadouts and place them on maps. Team shotting the DMR kills all vehicles besides the tanks so fast that Plasma Pistols and Plasma Grenades are not necessary spawn items.

Besides you shouldn’t be spawning with the noob combo or a sticky grenade. Sticky grenades end up being the only way a lot of people can get kills in games I’ve played in, and those kills tend to come down to nothing but luck.

Vehicles ARE underpowered but if you play like a coward in them you can still get some kills. Basically they made it so vehicles are the direct opposite of what you think they are, they are not that much tougher than a normal spartan and they don’t even really have that much more firepower than a couple spartans. What they really are is a specialized buffer between you and the enemy firepower and they all have infinite ammo.

Stay away from groups of enemies, focus on attacking people who aren’t looking at you, and learn very well the sound of a plasma pistol charging. Basically play like a -Yoink!- little coward and you’ll be fine.

so dang true.

i also feel like Plasma grenades and Pistol are overpowered against vehicles
it makes it too damn easy to get a double kill against a warthog,
and concdering that a vast majority of BTB players use this loadout, warthogs are generally not cared for (except for the guass hog)

but my two biggest problems are that:

  1. Warthog minigun has a very large spread, making it innefective over long ranges
the minigun is called the LAAG, wich stands for the “Light anti-aircraft gun”

usually, anti aircraft machine guns are either
a) a bullet hose (modern AA vehicles)
b) accurate, and highly damaging, not necessarily fast-firing

and i see that the warthogs minigun is none of those two.

  1. i have terrible teammates that treat warthogs like toys, rather than tools

i understand this is a game, but if you’re on the gunning seat, you should be shooting at ENEMIES, not ROCKS AND TREES

if you’re in the driver’s seat, big your gunner room to fire, and engage
and also, the warthog is not a snowplow, stop trying to go on splatter sprees

you can’t fix bad teammates, but you can fix the bullet spread

The Ghost can be destroyed fairly easily but I love using it.
The trick with the Ghost is to resist the urge to splatter unless you are sure they don’t see you’re coming. Try not to engage multiple people at the same time if possible…definitely not more than 2, and keep a little distance between you and them so you don’t get hijacked. When in a fight, never stop moving, keep moving left or right and most of the time that will help you avoid the stickies and overcharged plasma blasts.

wheelman is helpful, maybe not a lot but still something

thegrenadier perk says hello.

you should only be able to start with ONE plasma grenade(2 with grenadier) and TWO pulse grenades.
