Vehicles are completely useless

Someone said something about 343 spent all this time trying to “balance things”. This is what you get with a company thinking they are doing a “good thing”.

No, Bungie tried that BS and screwed up the entire D2 base game😄

All jokes aside. Balancing a game like this doesn’t work and it will never work. Halo is about fun, and balancing takes a lot of the fun out of the game that this bata is not keeping my interest in wanting to play.

Vehicles will always be bad as long as 343 keeps bringing back the turbo trash chip damage system from Reach. Vehicle gameplay hasn’t been good since Halo 3 and the stupid easy EMP from shock weapons doesn’t help.

I would argue that only the Rocket Launcher with its two rockets is efficient against vehicles, even if you land a direct hit with something like the Skewer you need at least two shots to take down a warthog, and you wont survive that reload time if the machine gunner is any good.

All of Infinite’s UNSC vehicles feel like the game has no concept of surface tension. Why does driving on dirt ever remind me of driving on ice in Sidewinder.

EXACTLY, thank you. People that think everything is great the way it is don’t have a realistic view of things. Most of the weapons that even can damage vehicles are rare map pickups, and they certainly can’t outshoot them in a fight. The warthog turret is about a 0.65 second kill, you’re lucky to get a single shot off with most weapons

Yeah the fragility and ease of flipping vehicles is kind of extreme. The banshee is the worst, I think, but most of the vehicles can be destroyed by just a little bit of AR fire. It makes them feel almost worthless because even if you don’t get killed by a Skewer or other vehicles killer, you just get wrecked by constant AR fire and that will destroy the vehicle in seconds.

The lack of any open maps is very true as well; all the maps have like, two preset tracks you can drive a vehicle on without flipping it. Other than that, you can’t go anywhere. Where are maps like Sandtrap, or Avalanche, or even Valhalla? On those, there’s at least some freedom in where to go and what to do with a vehicle. In this, you go left or right, and hope you (or your gunner) gets some kills before you get blown up.

So, yeah; @343 we’re all asking for this! Please remake some old maps that have a little open space, and please make the vehicles at least a little harder to shred to pieces, and most of all please make the vehicles that drive stop flipping over every two friggin’ seconds lol

Yeah just like these 343 devs lulz

Banshee bomb doesn’t one shot in this game and so people assume it does no damage, it tends to put enemies in one shot threshold for the Banshee’s blasters, If you use both weapons the Banshee has, it can be quite strong. I’ve gone on Frenzies with the thing on Behemoth.

If you want to try out the Tanks start a BTB map with Fiesta enabled. It randomizes Vehicle spawns, makes it so much easier to spawn a tank.

i think all vehicles besides the ghost, mongoose, and scorpion ( i haven’t used wraith so no opinion on it) need to be able to splatter enemies easier. i have crushed people into walls with the warthog and it not kill them and whip them with the back end and it does nothing.

Also the chopper needs to be able to boost ram everything besides tanks and destroy them like it could in halo 3. The chopper has no use in the sand box now.

Rocket hogs need a fix to there rockets. they need lock on the vehicles. and maybe a slow down to fire rate to compensate for a aggressive lock on.

I agree, but it does work well when used defensively. The front part can tank a lot of hits.

My biggest complaint is that I can flip over with the warthog and Chopper too easily. The warthog should have a lower center of gravity and the chopper shouldn’t flip and eject me when I do a 180.

i think it can tank a bit but unlike the ghost that can do the same it cant maneuver to get away from people that are flanking or hijacking easily.

I also agree with you on the flipping. the warthog shouldn’t flip as easy as it does but i think the chopper is fine with it flipping a bit easier than most vehicles.

Looks like the vehicles being squirrelly may be related to the desync on the network side.

At least that is how I read the Reddit post that was talking about it

Looks like 343 is aware and now looking at a fix which is all we can ask for really.

Strongly agree, the Warthog feels top heavy as though the top mounted gun weighs more than the entire vehicle itself. It’s either that or it just feels floaty. It does drive smoothly and I do love how it feels to drive but I just think it needs to feel heavier. When you drive it it feels like it weighs like 30kg or you are driving on a similar gravity level as the moon. Just feels unnatural.

Wasp seems to be the best balanced vehicle right now.
Ghost and Gungoose are very good, gungoose cannon is lethal.

But the warthog is a mess. Every little stone on the street seems to be a ramp that lets you fly across the map.
Chopper, some grass on the field can become an obstacle.

Wraith and Tank, sorry, never had a chance to drive one of them in BTB. As soon as they spawn, if they do, people are just waiting to get it.

Very rarely does the skewer take two shots to take out a warthog because it’s already been damaged enough for it to be a one shot.

I always saw the rocket hog as the anti-air warthog so I feel like it being only able to lock on to air vehicles is fine.

They are hard to handle, it feels like you are controlling the camera instead of the vehicle and they flip over too easy. Their should be multiple vehicle control schemes. I’d like to turn using the left stick.
