Vehicles and weapons disappearing quickly?

Is it me or do vehicle and weapons disappear too quickly compare to other Halo games?

I’ve noticed this as well. If I die and try to run back to the spot where I died to get my weapons back, they’re usually gone. Sometimes I can see them disappear as I get close to them. Same thing happens when I kill a distant enemy and get close to his corpse.

Vehicles and weapons disappear much quicker in order to enforce the load outs and tac-Packs. Power weapons that were picked up can be dropped twice before entering the fast despawn phase. (Binary rifle, sniper rifle, hammer, sword etc)

To add a bit of clarification to the situation, it takes 12 seconds for a weapon to disappear after hitting the ground.

So, let’s say you die with a weapon that you just received via an Ordnance Drop. Count to 12 in your head; real seconds, not the fast counting a lot of people do(the “one Mississippi, two Mississippi…” method works nicely). If you pass 12 while counting when running back to where you died to pick your weapon back up, you may as well not waste your time running back there.

I’ve noticed that weapons dropped by enemies in campaign seem to disappear sometimes. I think this may be a glitch.

I have recently noticed this, as well. It’s quite annoying, as part of the strategy of Halo should consist of utilising the weapons your enemies drop. But if they disappear too quickly, you can’t do that.

The most annoying recent problem I’ve had was on Infinity (campaign). I was at the bunker doors with three miniguns. As my turret overheated, I would detach it and retreat to cover, also letting my shields recharge. I would then drop the minigun and DMR some crawlers. When I went to pick up the minigun again to engage Knights, it had disappeared. This occurred several times.

Either it’s a bug, or a weapon-stealing elf has been programmed to follow the Master Chief across Requiem. I can think of no good gameplay reason to allow this sort of stupidity.

I hate the weapons disappearing.

If I kill a guy or get killed by someone then that weapon should lie there indefinitely. I should be able to respawn and go get it.

Yeah that is alot quicker than before then. I guess it means the enemy team doesn’t have alot of time to pick em up either though.

I think the reasoning behind this is because of how overloaded the map would of power weapons due to ordinance drops. Then again, why does it happen in playlists without ordinance?

Yes, it’s a very bad thing

Doesn’t belong in campaign which has none of that.

maybe because the xbox 360 doesn’t have enough ram
