Oh wait, the guy above me made me think you want all Vehicles out. Like somebody already said, vehicles should be damaged by Weapons that make sense. Like the Bazooka and the Spartan Laser.
A DMR or SNIPER Should not be able to take out or even damage ANY vehicle.
If you headshot the driver fine. But no vehicle damage fr/small arms…

Rockets, FRG, Plasma Launcher, Armor Lock, Jetpack, Laser, Frags, Plasmas, Plasma Pistol overcharge, other vehicles, Grenade Launcher. Take your pick.
A Warthog should not be a double kill on a silver platter if you have just a DMR/Sniper. It should be something to fear and teamwork and proper weapon should be required to take out a vehicle, just like the past.
I agree… But disagree as well.
It’s incredibly difficult to take out a Banshee unless you can get your team to cooperate to do so. Especially on maps where your team possesses none of the “vehicle destroyers”. I’ve run 25 and 0 on maps just by flying a Banshee.
While I agree a Sniper shouldn’t be able to blow up a Warthog… I think a Banshee should be a lot easier to damage. Especially since a driver CANNOT be shot out of it. No skill to fighting one, just pour enough bullets into it and HOPE it blows up.
In Halo 3, it seemed to be “enough bullets into the Banshee kills it”. Which was basically just… Drain the shield of the guy in it by shooting it and it goes boom. Not like that now in Reach. In Halo 3, the way it worked actually made Shotguns and Assault Rifles VERY VIABLE weapons against the Banshee. Now? Practually useless.
Tanks are nigh-on invincible right now as well. At the very least, a Plasma Pistol should shut down FIRING and TURNING mechanisms as well. Completely disable the vehicle so it’s sitting there and doing nothing.
Some vehicles are TOO POWERFUL right now, even against Small Arms Fire. Others are TOO WEAK right now to Small Arms Fire.
Also, it’s easy to shoot a driver out of a Ghost. Even with an Assault Rifle. Just remember to NOT JUMP until the Ghost is boosting at you. If it’s shooting you, shoot back and find cover. The instant you jump, it boosts so it can hit you just before you land, so you can’t dodge it. That’s what I do. Ghosts are weak vehicles if you know how to fight 'em without a power weapon.
as long as the vehicles are properly balanced I don’t mind. Reach vehicles like the ghost and revanent were more maneuverable than in halo 3 (revanent being compared to the chopper). remember the the ghost in halo 3 was nearly impossible move around while boosting and was slow when you weren’t boosting, plus people could jump clear over it. in reach you don’t have the ability to jump over the ghost so easily and the ghost is much more maneuverable while boosting, and its for that reason the DMR and Sniper rifle do so much damage to vehicles.

The sniper is a .50 Cal anti-material rifle. I’m not sure if you understand just how powerful it is. It wasn’t designed to take down personnel, rather it was designed to disable equipment (hence the name), light armoured vehicles… you get the point.
The sniper should be able to damage light vehicles. The DMR however, shouldn’t.
No. If I see a banshee that’s damaged coming after me in my spawn, I want to be able to
do as much damage to it as possible with any weapon I have. I don’t want to have to get
out of my base and find/use a power weapon that spawns every 3 minutes.
Vehicles are overpowered, a person on foot shoot at least be able to defend themselves
slightly.

No, they should do damage, ESPECIALLY the sniper. Have you ever heard of an Anti-Material weapon? The DMR shouldnt flip the warthog in mid-air but if the entire team is firing at a warthog with DMR’s then it should do damage.
Its fairly realistic; a few hundred years in the future anti-materiel rifle should be able to do some damage against vehicles
(Although I agree not DMRs, at least not focus fired by about 6 people)
anyway it makes an interesting compromise; do i use my sniper to tackle infantry or kill the tank that’s approaching my base?
Anyway, we use rockets to tackle infantry so…
