Vehicle repair concept for Warzone

So i just got finished watching the new Avengers movie for the umpteenth time, and the scene with Iron Man’s ‘Hulkbuster’ armor gave me an idea. So, when IM takes severe damage to one arm, he can call in a new one from the air, and it will shoot down and reattach a brand new arm. https://youtu.be/mjx-02XWuzk?t=1m

I thought, this would be perfect for Warzone. Let’s say you’re driving a vehicle, we’ll use a Warthog for example. Your Warthog has taken severe damage, fire/smoke spewing out. So, you open a Req menu (i know its only supposed to be available in a base, but maybe an addition could be made for this purpose only), and your ‘call in’ new armor for a set amount of Req points. Your Warthog proceeds to drop all of its armor, turret, etc. and is basically stripped down to the frame. A few seconds later, the Infinity shoots down brand new armor, turret etc. which attaches to the frame, giving you a new, fresh 'Hog.

What do you guys think? I know it’s a long shot for H5 at this point in development, but possibly for future Halo games?

Wow, nice idea. I think that this could really work if 343i gets it to work properly.

Not in that respect. No.

But you can get the Warthog from a vehical spawn.

Drive back there and they spawn takes you do and then lifts you up in a brand new hog? That would be better.

Yeah, i just think it’d be awesome to get ‘on-the-fly’ repairs. It would also be another way for 343 to show off the insane technological capabilities of the Infinity.

Might as well just bring back (the superior) regen system.

This is a whole bag full of “Nopes” in my book. This could lead to players having an essentially invincible vehicle and would add another layer of complexity to a gametype that doesnt need it.

Of course it would continue with the standard req system where you have to save up enough energy before you can spend Req points on it. And depending on how “heavy” the vehicle is, it would cost more/less to repair it.

This.

Vehicles are already deadly enough in the right hands, thanks. I was playing a match of BTB CTF on Exile (Halo 4) the other day and I got a 31 kill streak in the Gauss Hog. The run only ended because my driver accidentally got the Hog wedged somewhere and we had to bail out. And that’s just with the “paper health” Halo 4 Warthog.

It’s probably too late to implement in the current rendition of Warzone, but a repair pad that uses REQ energy to repair your vehicle would be nice. Another possibility is that the repair system works slowly so it can be prone to attack or stealing from the other team.

Can’t the same be said for anything obtainable via the Req system? Personally, I’m horrible with the sniper rifle, but if the sniper rifle got in the right hands through the Req system, they could be equally as deadly.

I prefer this. For it would take the hog and play out of the fight for the time it took to drive to base, repair, and then drive back to the fight. So you could be out of fight for about 1 to 3 minutes. So you have to choose which is important. Contributing or keeping your hog alive

I’m not sure where I stand on this!

No. That’d basically take all the fun away of seeing a Warthog on fire and thinking, “I’m gonna blow that thing up.”

While this sounds good in concept, I would more-or-less like to just be able to repair vehicles manually or so. Just as returning to a req station will replenish ammo, I think Vehicles should have a special “garage” that they can be parked in momentarily to repair. This would of course have a cooldown, in theory, so that you couldn’t endlessly repair while being shot etc.

I’d prefer if the vehicle repair system was not implemented into the game.

Engineers from halo wars!
