Vehicle idea: a pilot-able Enforcer from Halo 2

Remember the Enforcers from Halo 2? Imagine bringing them to Halo 5 but as a drivable vehicle!

Here’s how I imagine it would work. It would have less offensive capabilities than the Phaeton but more defensive capabilities. In Halo 2 it utilised a machine gun which fired crystalline rounds, a missile launcher and a bigger sentinel beam. I would propose removing the missiles and have the right tigger fire the beam and the left tigger fire the machine gun. Also it has an energy shield on the front of it like a Jackal’s making it much more durable from the front and it would be resistant to EMP’s aside from the front shield. I propose this vehicle have about the same health as a Sword Wraith and would move about as fast as a Phaeton but without any boosting or anything like that. Unlike the Phaeton, the vehicle blows apart when destroyed as opposed to to dematerialising, and entering it is as simple as popping the hatch and jumping it. Also it can be boarded like a tank and pummelled to death or planted with a grenade.

But here’s the coolest part, remember when it used it’s claws to pick up vehicles? You would also be able to do this by pressing the melee button while hovering over a vehicle. In Halo 2 it would then be able to crush the vehicle. You would be able to crush mongooses, ghosts and warthogs, but tanks would be resistant. However you can still move these vehicles away from your teammates, or move friendly vehicles to a desired location.

I know this would be the second Forerunner arial vehicle, however I personally don’t think a Forerunner ground vehicle would work in Halo 5 as just about every role as already been covered. Plus this would be the first arial vehicle with as much of a support function as an assault function.

What do you guys think? Do you agree or disagree and why?

Well maybe it would have to have the beam and missiles taken away instead of just the missiles. If it moves as fast as a phaeton and can instantly destroy small vehicles by crushing them then it should only have the machine gun… it might need the health of the normal wraith as well just to be more balanced.

That’d be pretty neat-o, and a little fun fact is that the enforcers were actually considered vehicles in the coding for Halo 2 if I remember correctly, they just had an invisible AI controlling them.

Just another of bungies nifty little tricks to get old tech to work. It just reminds me of how they needed to hide the scarab gun in order to make the thing shoot in the first place.

True, I didn’t take into account how fast a Phaeton actually is. How about this, the same speed as a scorpion, only airborne, and just the beam?

That’s pretty cool, it’s a shame we never got to pilot one ourselves

The Super Sentinel things? I don’t really want them playable, but I’d love to see the Sentinels/Super Sentinels and even Flood return if we get a new Halo Ring / Shield World Warzone map. The return of the Sentinel Beam could be glorious if they had different REQ variants, such as the base version with a blue beam, the more powerful version with the red, and possibly one with sniper-level range to match the Focus Rifle, similarly to how the Blood of Suban is basically a Carbine Needle Rifle.

I like this, I always was a fan of the sentinel beam. However I’d prefer they go with the Halo 2 variants, the base one would be silver and fire a yellow beam while the next one up would be gold and fire a blue beam, and perhaps the best would fire dual beams or something.
