Vehicle Health bar (With Picture)

I think this is something that Halo has been missing, If the UNSC has all this technology, why cant they integrate a health bar into a spartans visor while he/she is driving/piloting a vehicle? That was in canon terms of course. But I would like to know exactly how much health my Vehicle has before I abandon it or die in it. I know it shows that the vehicle is damaged, then its pouring smoke, then its on fire. But sometimes when you steal a vehicle thats one shot away from catching fire, you wont know until your, well on fire. I have no idea if they could implement this or not, but it would be nice in my opinion so I know either to bail or not. I’ll photoshop a pic later.

Heres what I mean, this is edited with paint so, its not the best.

I don’t see why not…

I’ve always wanted something like that as well! I didn’t like trying to guess how damaged my vehicle was when I’m concentrating driving carefully.

I also missed the passenger health as well.

I don’t have a problem with this. It was nice in CE.

Same for passenger health.

That would be a nice addition.

It’s especially frustrating to loose your shields and hide while they recharge, peek out, and one shot later you’ve exploded. I would love a health bar.

There’s already too much stuff on the HUD, please don’t add any more. Besides, the visuals do a fine job letting you know how much damage has been done to your vehicle. Hint: if whatever you’re driving is on fire, it’s time to get out.

My friends and I always base it on, “if the Warthog is on fire and billowing black smoke in a large amount then it’s going to explode soon.”

Well yea, but what if you want to wait till the last second to get out so you can get a few more kills. How would you know when to get out if theres no health bar?

I find it unneeded. I think any player should be able to determine that their vehicle won’t last much longer if it’s on fire, or differentiate between a used vehicle and a new vehicle. Then again, it would be a pretty cool addition, but like I said, it’s not needed. Maybe for the new players.

Was that not the point of your vehicle bursting into flame?
Yes, it’s not entirely accurate, but it should be good enough to know when it’s time to bail out without adding more in your face clutter.

Passenger health I wouldn’t mind, but since Halo 4 won’t be using health bars, that’s kind of a useless addition now.

I would like to know my vehicles health as well. Great addition IMO.

It would be a nice little addition and it would not take up too much room. It would not be hard to 343i to do either.

Could be similar to how the Sabre in reach’s health system read.
Example: Hull integrity: 100%

(except it doesn’t repair itself and there’s no overshield.)
Though that just gave me an idea for a unique new multiplayer vehicle…
