There’s been a lot of posts about the fragility/paper mache-esq qualities of the vehicles in multiplayer (especially the Warthog) but it extends to the campaign as well. I was playing today (trying to grind out legendary) on level 3 and came to a large section towards the end with a lot of Banshees. I must have tried 30 some odd times to get something going in a Banshee but as soon as I took to the sky, carbine rifles would drop my shields to 0 and a few shots from a ghost would take me out.
I’ll admit I’m not the best Banshee pilot, but this was clearly designed to be a vehicle section on the level. What’s the point of having vehicles if simple small arms fire can take it out? There’s no advantage to using it at all. I get that legendary is supposed to be challenging but this was just cheap. I ended up having to do the entire section on foot. I would have like to mix things up with some vehicle play, maybe take on the other Banshees in some aerial combat, but that’s really difficult when carbines can take me out before I have a chance to do anything. Some of 343’s design decisions are just baffling.
Legendary: Halo Ninjas…Respect.
That sums it up right there.

Only use the Banshee on that level after you have destroyed the Ghosts on the ground.
Did that. 2 Elites in the tower with carbines kept taking me out in about 10 seconds. Finally got fed up and just skipped over the Banshees altogether.
i must agree with you on that one i swear i died so many times when i decided to use a vehicle on legendary, i remember playing halo combat evolved, halo 2, halo 3, and actually remember wishing i had a vehicle to use for some sections on halo 4 i avoided them most of the time unless they were absolutely necessary ( first use of mantis ect )
