Vehicle Betrayals in Warzone is Getting Annoying.

Since I’ve started playing Warzone Firefight, I have been betrayed by a player in a Warthog or Ghost, practically 9 times out of 10. Sometimes twice a match by the same players. It doesn’t even give the option to boot, which I think should be an option. Given Warzone Firefight also has the lengthy spawn timer on the higher rounds, and I just spawn in with a high tier power weapon and die from a careless player, you can imagine how this may frustrate me and leave me kind of upset.

There were absolutely no reasons the players should have ran me over either, there was plenty of room in the areas I died for them to drive around me, especially on maps like Escape From ARC and Skirmish at Darkstar.

Extended spawn timers should be added to betrayers

They should just be booted or have the ability spawn in vehicles disabled temporarily. Something that makes it obvious for little kids or trolls ruining the fun of Warzone FF for others to stop being reckless.

-A noob betrays a teammate for his SAW and gets killed by a knight.
-He waits 60 seconds to respawn.
-He then respawns with The Answer and runs to the last boss and gets splattered by another noob.
-Then he waits another 60 seconds to respawn.
-Round lost > game over.

Some splatters are completely accidental and are to be expected on occasion in such a chaotic mode but if its happening over and over in a single match then someone is likely doing it on purpose. Also i think you need to betray 3 times in one match to get booted but im not sure if this applies in WZFF.

But in open places where no chaos is going on, no enemies spawned, plenty of room to drive around without splattering a teammate would justify a reason for someone to get booted if they splattered you. This has happened almost all the times I have been killed. Yesterday I was splattered once in four matches in a row by players who just don’t care. I had to wait for the max time round five has in Warzone FF in one of the matches. That is highly infuriating.

This happened to me once yesterday… I had the Gauss turret since it was a rare item I got in a gold pack. Got ran over by a careless player right in the opening of the Fortress in a very open area on Darkstar.

Final boss was Warden.

I completely agree its very annoying but sometimes people will purposefully sprint/boost in front of vehicles (not saying you did that) to try and get a player booted. Trying to differentiate between the two for a booting system would be insanely difficult.

On the opposite side i was playing WZFF with a few friends last night and had an ONI warthog. Only to have a player repeatedly spartan charge it to turn it over and steal it. I managed to stay on the gun and he jumped out and joined with another player to carry on trying to steal it for the next 5 minutes. So we splattered him once to get the point across.

That’s understandably true, and it’s annoying when players try to steal your vehicles as well, at that point I’d be reporting them for unsporting behavior and be tempted to ask them “What the -Yoink- is wrong with you?” I haven’t come across players deliberately jumping in front of vehicles, but I have had this happen in Grifball, people booting me purposely because they would jump in front of me numerous times to betray kick. Different topic, but same concept. Hence my reason for no longer playing my favorite gametype of all time.

I play fair and wouldn’t jump in front of someone’s vehicle to get them booted, that’s childish, but I do think it’s annoying when it has happened to my friends.

Someone in a ghost betrayed three of us at once last night and one of us must have had the option to boot because he left the game immediately.

Yeah 3 betrayals is the standard limit in arena games so must be the same in WZ.

I get accidents once in a while as I have done that, but I literally got ran over 4times in the first round on FF Stormbreak. I was off to the side or no where near a road and they sped through and hit me. If you are going to splatter enemies great I do that too, but don’t just drive and run into teammates. After they ran over a few others multiple times they left the match.

In Warzone two team kill splatters are enough to boot you out of the game. Which should be three. I’ve been booted out of games maybe four times after accidentally running over teammates. They can jump behind an obstacle when you’re going at full speed or just suddenly change their direction and jump under your vehicle. Believe me, it is annoying for the driver also. I usually quit using vehicles if I get even one accidental team kill, I’ve lost one too many legendary RP boosts because of accidental splatters.

It should be 2, I’ve had many matches were players would smash into me in the final round and not only cost me a REQ but the match too.

Accidents happen. Yeah it’s frustrating. If it is a habit for the offender you will be able to boot him. Be aware of your surroundings.

Personally i think 3 is a good number, especially in something as chaotic as WZ. I have only ever been booted for betrayals once and that was due to someone purposefully jumping in front of me. In terms of accidental team splatters after the first one i tend to be a little more cautious but after the second i tend to either stop using said vehicle or use it in a more stationary way.

Yeah, I accidently splattered two guys with a wraith and got booted. Betrayal booting is a thing in WZ firefight.

It’s understandable to do it by accident, but there are plenty of players doing it for fun and it obviously isn’t fun wasting a High tier REQ weapons because players decide to screw other players over.

I agree completely. Halo players learn after a while what an accident is vs intentionally driving over a player. Once on a while there’s a gray area incident. By and large, the player goes out of the way to ram you while you’re playing the game and usually looking the other way.

WZFF is a brilliant answer to the super easy FF that Reach devolved into near the end, with the fuel rod games and unlimited ammo. 343 deserves credit. Then they mess it up some, by allowing vehicular betrayal. Friendly fire is already off so what is the point in allowing vehicles to be used against teammates?

WZFF is a pretty sizable investment of time and also resources with the REQ system. Close this loophole 343. (And I’d say, boot on the first offense. I’d take it if it were my mistake. It would cause players to get the message.)

I have a minor counter argument: I love to spawn vehicles, but deliberately try to make sure I DON’T hit my teammates. What bugs me is that people just love to walk in the middle of the road for no reason. I’ve had to emergency brake countless times just because my teammate thought it was a great idea to cross the battlefield without looking both ways.
