Playing Warzone, and a little Big team battle, I feel the vehicle sandbox needs to be modified to fit the Current Halo model. I have changes for all of these vehicles that will empower them by making them actual threats, and promote team play and punishing bum rushing.
Tanks:
-Immune to small arms fire (except hard light rounds), except in rear exhaust vent, or until the vehicle reaches a health level of 70%.
-Cannot be hijacked unless under a certain health threshold, say 70%.
Banshees:
-Shield is a separate entity from the craft, over killing the shield will not affect the craft, but the more overkill the shield takes, the longer it’s out. (Hitting with a spartan laser will take the shield out for a long time, but being knocked out by a br the duration is normal.
Mantis:
-Shield is a separate entity from the Mantis, over killing the shield will keep it out longer similar to the Banshee.
-Cannot Be hijacked until a certain health threshold, say 70%.
-Tighter Spread on Chain-gun.
Wraith:
-Cannot be hijacked until reaching a certain health threshold, say 70%
-Immune to small arms fire (save hard light rounds), except in rear core, or until the vehicle reaches a health level of 70%.
Warthog:
-Turret man has slightly buffed shielding and the turret shield is more effective in deflecting fire from the front.
All Vehicles:
- Small arms fire is than weaker than current settings to vehicles that are not already immune (save hard light rounds).
- Plasma pistol EMP affect will increase or decrease in duration depending on the health threshold of the target. 100% health = Shorter than current emp duration, 70% = Normal duration, 20% = Longer than normal duration.
- Spartan laser cannot pierce shielded targets (vehicles only), only overkill their shields, vehicles with heavy armor, such as base tank, cannot be instantly killed, rather brought within an inch of it’s life.
-Vehicles with buffed armor will require more damage proportionally to hijack and damage with small arms when applicable.
-Any vehicle with ONI armor is immune to small arms fire including hard light rounds until a health level of 70%, which is then damageable only by hard light rounds, then at 40% small arms fire.
These are my ideas for vehicle re-balances, nothing is stone as this is all just things i’ve made up, and it’s up for debate if you have other ideas. Perhaps after all the combat changes to Halo 5, perhaps in Halo 6 the big change will be in the vehicle area, let’s hope. Can’t wait to see what you all have in mind.
