Variants & mulitiple Weapons

One thing that bothered me about Halo games is that the campaign (most of the times) plays exactly like the multiplayer. I commend Reach for putting some new weaponry exclusive to the campaign like the Target Locator and others only available through forge. This made the campaign feel really special and different. Obviously, some of these weapons in campaign are not balance, but that doesn’t matter.

In campaign, what’s important is the story and atmosphere of the game. My proposal for Halo 4 is to have multiple variants for each weapon. This could at least give you the sense of scale of the faction using that weapon and also some variety. This idea should only be applied to the campaign 'cause Halo multiplayer has always been known for having one type of each weapon. This way we could have best of both.

It’s a decent idea. Put them in Forge and Custom Games though, too.

about every game you play the campaign always plays like the multiplayer. like for instance most multiplayer maps on halo games are based off of in some way the campaign. but if we had maps completely different maps from the campaign it would be compleley irrelevant.

That’s the problem. Halo’s campaign is starting to look like Firefight with cutscenes. We need something to differentiate the campaign from multiplayer. That’s two things. Weaponry and environment. Maps is a different story. I just didn’t discuss it because the subject has been discussed quite extensively.
