Hi guys, I lurk but first time posting. First off I really am enjoying the campaign. I haven’t beat it yet or unlocked better versions of weapons or “variants”. I did however find the BR Breacher it’s sick! But I noticed it doesn’t grab ammo from regular BRs lying around or in weapons racks… so the only way to get ammo is to find a kinetic ammo cache. They are probably the most common but I’m thinking when it comes to me using one of my Banished weapons from killing a mini boss if it’s hard-light or other it’ll be a huge pain. I noticed battery weapons like the Carbine Repeater somehow load up from other Carbine Repeaters so it wouldn’t be breaking immersion. I think it’s just an oversight but I really hope they add it just for QoL purposes.

Think that might be a deliberate balance issue. They work well for boss fights but if you could easily reload it’s ammo (however I think you can at a FOB) then it would be too easy to rock around the map owning everything. i’m very happy that 343 did not dumb down the difficulty (playing on Hero) in this game !
While I’d pretty much guarantee its a balancing mechanic, it actually makes sense. Most of the unique weapons have a perk based around its munitions behavior. Hows the “normal” iteration of these rounds supposed to get the special perk that’s tied to that weapon? A bullet being incendiary, armor piercing, tracer, frangible, hollow point, slug, etc has nothing to do with the gun.
