Lets face it . When halo 3 introduced regen and bubble shields it lead to armour abilities and “perks”
That old run and gun halo died wiht halo 2. Halo 3 was acceptable with the implements made but reach took to far.
Why ask for a classic playlist when we just want a classic game im not bashing the the change , iim all for halo 4 and the new changes but specializations are pushing way too far , just how reach did from halo 3’s new implements
I’m sure there will be some playlists without specializations, which will alleviate the annoyance somewhat, but it is disappointing to see the direction 343i are taking the series in.
Edit: Actually, just read that they’re only available to those who reach end game, ie. level 50, which is total -Yoink-. Giving those who have played the game more a big advantage just plain sucks. I would understand cosmetic, non game-play effecting rewards, but this is too far. A rental for me I’m afraid, 343 won’t be getting my money.
If only there was some way you could change what was on the map and the rules of the game. If only you could somehow customize things. I know it’s a crazy idea, but just imagine if you could change some, i dunno, lets call them “settings” to make the game play how you please. But that would never happen… right?

Yeah but thats custom games… we want it to be a even playing field on all gametypes with ought all the ridiculous variables that will end up being unbalanced.

EXACTLY … just because we tweak it to our liking custom games its still going to be different…
It isn’t. If you can’t see it, then I credit that to the fact that you must have not had much experience with Halo 1, 2 or 3. This guy is right in the sense that Halo will never be the same again now. Reach already made a transition into this field, but Halo 4 had a chance to take it back. Now that it hasn’t, we can’t go back. It has crossed a line that it simply can’t walk back over because a new community is building up within this game. A new community who loves and enjoys the loadout system along with the AA’s, specializations and perks. Some people simply will not play a game like that and they’ll move on. Some people are willing to accept that change and they’ll try it out to see how they like it for themselves. There are even some here right now who absolutely love the changes and are going to support this game to the fullest. But there will be many others who join in on this Halo for the first time and love it. They’ll be the group that keeps pushing this game forward into the next Halo games where these ideas will be taken to an even further level.

> When it happens, go play the mlg playlist cause they’ll probably strip it down to Halo 3. Although I hope not
i know but its just the fact you have an ability , your suit has an ability and you can sprint , you can take it all but sprint

I’m not gonna take that -Yoink- from you! I played Halo:CE for the first time 4 months after it’s release, don’t talk about stuff you don’t know.

I’m just saying, it is fairly obvious that you aren’t grasping what this all means. If you really don’t see it, then you don’t understand the history of this game. That is a fact, not an opinion. Right at Reach this game changed forever and Halo 4 is continuing that change in full force. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing or a good thing, I’m just pointing out the facts here.

I understand, and yes. The game’s changed. But IMO, it’s for the better.
> Grrr it all started when they HAD to ruin the halo series with ‘over-shield’ and ‘invisibility’ power-ups in Halo 1.

> Vanilla with a chocolate swirl > vanilla
halo 3 equipment was great it was vanilla with a swirl but it didnt effect core gameplay or add “unfair” advantages , but in halo 4 theres that feeling like what if this guy can see me on the map because i killed him or what if its 49-49 and they can see me through the wall , ya know it was fine with halo 3 we just needed more maps more guns and better graphics not super suits and perks
The problem is that Halo 1, 2, and 3 were all arena shooters that were all about balance. No one had an advantage over another player off the start. Now, you will have no idea if a guys shield is going to recharge faster, while he sprints away without you hearing him, and can run forever because of the infinite sprint perk. Or they could see you through a wall, across the map and when you do notice them they won’t be knocked out of zoom because they have the Rogue specialization. Whatever the situation, its always going to give one of the players a huge advantage that will result in many upset players because they know that based on skill alone, they would have killed the other player. But now that isn’t the case. Players who do not deserve a kill will now be rewarded with them for just playing the game longer than others. And even when everyone has all the specializations, you still won’t know what they have. All of the specializations are gamebreaking and should be taken out of the game in my opinion.
