IMHO I think 343I should shutdown Halo Infinite for at least 6 months and go thru every line of code for errors. Then have the Halo Community test ( FLIGHT ) the game for at least 3mos. before it is released to the public.
Just my 2 cents!
Peace!

Honestly 343 should shut down Infinite until they can make it into the game they promised us, fix all the errors, coding issues, everything. Only once all of those have been done should Infinite be brought back.
EDIT: I’d also like to add that IF 343 did shut down Infinite to completely overhaul it, I’d hope they’d get rid of the terribad F2P model and replace it with the model that has WORKED for Halo for so long. Drop the store support, meaning the existing store items are the ONLY store items, no new store stuff for season 3, 4, ect. you want swag? You gotta earn it!
Anyone here with a Steam Deck can confirm whether this has been done?
So far, I have seen no working anti-cheat for linux as of yet. Anyone that runs linux will be able to let you know when the steam deck will be supported.
Adding my request to this thread. MCC runs great on the SteamDeck in offline mode. If 343i could enable EAC when running the game using Proton that would super.
Can someone from this thread post a screenshot/image of the error thrown?
Thanks!
To follow up from earlier this year - I now have a steamdeck and MCC still cant run multiplayer on it without dual booting windows. 343 please fix this.
We know it can be done because Infinite works flawlessly on SteamOS.
Valve, EAC, and 343 all are collaborating to get it compatible on Steam deck at least last we heard on the topic. Given how the MCC is a collection of games its probably throwing a number of wrenches into EAC support on Linux. I hope they comment on the progress in the November update.
A year later and here we are lol. Hopefully it’s coming in the next few weeks
What makes you think it’ll be in the next few weeks? MCC support seems to be just as dead as Infinite support right now, and EAC has been promised time and time again while simultaneously being barely mentioned by anyone actually working on it.
Supposedly Infinite is getting EAC in Season 3 - if true, either 343 plans to get this fixed for MCC or they are sending Infinite back in time to where it was unsupported like MCC is today.
Hopefully MCC is pulled forward, rather than Infinite being dragged back
MCC support seems to be just as dead as Infinite support
MCC got its last update in december, looking at the updates being timed every 3-4 months, the next one is probably coming next month
Also infinite got an update just yesterday and Season 3 is coming in ~3 weeks alongside a huge update
To be fair I’m not talking about content updates, I’m talking about fix updates or QOL, quality of life, updates Should’ve specified, my bad.
According to the last blog on MCC, the next update adds theatre for H4 campaign and Spops and probably some bug fixes and QOL improvements to MCC and the mod tools, like most of the recent MCC updates did.
Also Infinite will get QOL updates for forge, the CGB and possibly the overall game with Season 3 as well as a proper anti cheat according to surasia and 343s roadmap
Imagine if MCC still had embarrassing failures in terms of stability - like Co-Op consistently crashing, unexplainable fatal errors, etc - that would be insane considering the game came out almost 10 years ago.
The issue from this thread is about the Steam Deck not being supported. 343 CLEARLY had a developer openly post on a random thread on reddit back in September that they were still checking boxes! What more could we ask for?! You think they are going to update the community more than once every 6 months?
Instead of fixing bugs that are reported over and over, updating playlists, or addressing issues raised by the community 343 is focused on what really matters - discussing how they can monetize spartan points or their developers on Twitter asking whether or not a ping system should be added to MCC.
And Beerman is right, MCC has high levels of community involvement / transparency, lots of issues are clearly being fixed and worked on and the last few blog updates should make it obvious that 343 is working diligently to get MCC’s major issues resolved. Its all obvious that 343 couldn’t possibly do anything more than they are right now. They got that November update out in December, remember!
True. Still I trust 343 with MCC vastly more than I do with Infinite, it just feels like Infinite is a lost cause and 343 should focus on at least stabilizing Infinite, then finish working on MCC, once MCC is finished 343 should either go back to working on a stabilized Infinite OR just start a new project.
Who knows, and keep in mind I’m not celebrating anything just pointing out, that with Bonnie and Kiki gone from 343, there is a possibility we can see at least more games similar to Reach and 4, in that they are content complete and not drowning in monetization schemes.
I say this is a possibility but not a guarantee. We all know the 343 leadership was the root of most of modern Halos issues, let’s see what a shakeup in leadership can result in. I’m quite interested to see what happens with the franchise after Infinite support ends.
Yes MCC still has some long-known issues that are annoying and reported over and over again, like with coop for example. Those are rooted in the netcode and hopefully will get resolved eventually, but that needs a lot of work to be done.
And yeah they could update us more regularly on what theyre working on and whats coming soon, like they did during the PC porting phase inbetween the additions of the titles. Also i feel like the forums and what we are posting here had much more impact on where they were going and what theyre adding/changing back then with the seasonal feedback threads for MCC.
Steam deck compatibility for their EAC instance is quite easily doable i think, as all they have to do is add some files when rebuilding eac.dll (which they kinda have to do with every update, so EAC aknowledges the new build instead of spamming error messages due to changed game files).
Well for one the .so file has been added to the eac dir for a while now, not sure what else they really need to do considering the steam deck runs on x86_64 so it’s not really like it needs to be compiled for another arch.
Then again I don’t know how dedicated 343i is when it comes to linux as it’s a fairly small audience in general.
As for Infinite getting a proper AC. Knowing what I do about some of the cheats; for sure 2 of the bigger providers have had kernel drivers ready for the inevitable EAC implementation. < This is just based on how bad arbiter is/was/still is.
Expecting an overnight change will definitely not happen, possibly just going to get rid of the kids on free cheats but again the better developed paid services will for sure be an up hill battle.
