Valentine's Day Doubles is a Vast Improvment

These maps basically eliminate camping from doubles. At all times on these maps, you know the general vicinity of where your opponent is at. This makes for much more strategic and skill based fights. It is such a relief after playing overgrowth. The maps had the feel of the great halo 3 maps. On maps like guardian and the pit camping was rarely an effective strategy. Players could sit on their knees. But, you still know the room or area they reside in. Remove rig, fathom, Pegasus, coliseum, and overgrowth. (you are for this unless you are a Power Weapon Camper). Keep Truth, Regret, Empire and Eden. Get some of these breakout style maps in the mix. This could create some of the best doubles gameplay ever.

The halo 2 BR start is a vast improvement. I actually liked the open sandbox that 343 implemented. But, once I went to back to the BR, I don’t ever want to go back. I still only think this works well for doubles. I think on team slayer the BR in the hands of 4 players starts to ruin map movement.

Power weapons still have too much damn ammo. I’m fine with the quick timers. This helps player movement. But, it is not necessary to sill put 4 rockets in the rocket launcher and the vast amount of ammo in the binary rifle.

I actually like the no nade starts. I hated it at first. But, I feel like the nade spamming was cut down immensely.

Make doubles ranked. I like playing people my skill level and seeing how I’ve improved.

Make doubles permanent

Unfortunately I disagree, and you’re one of the few people I’ve seen saying that they think it’s an improvement! As for camping: from the games I’ve played it has actually got worse and the normal arena maps played way better. Bigger maps = more space to move around in. Plus there was quite a few times where I ended up being spawn killed, so the whole knowing where the enemies are the whole time is not necessarily a good thing. As for the Halo 2 BR, I don’t mind it as a choice (pickup weapon) but being the loadout weapon makes the game feel slow and dated to me, especially having no grenades either! The maps were made for breakout, not arena, and that’s how they should stay imo. I do agree with reducing power weapon ammo count though.

Halo 2 BR starts prevents a lot of SMG and Assault rifle deaths that tend to get incredibly annoying

On all these maps, with a few simple steps, I can instantly learn the location of my opponents. I don’t feel like I’m playing hide and go seek like I did on the rig or overgrowth. I love that the narrow corners and hallways disappeared on these maps. Always knowing the vicinity of my opponents brings me back to guardian and the pit. Now, these maps need work to get to that level but it is a start. I love the more symmetrical style maps. The rounded asymmetrical clutter maps are garbage for doubles.

On the map with the binary rifle, I can agree the top hill needs less protection. The walls need to be removed. I had trouble with getting spawn killed at first on that map. But, there are counters for it if you use your brain and teamwork.

I’m actually horrified people at how people are responding to the playlist. I’m just seeing a bunch of whiny campers who want their overgrowth sword, shotgun, and infinite hallways and corners back.
