V-sync is not my max refresh-rate HELP!

I can not get Halo Infinite to accept my displays max refresh rate
First I adjusted my LG OLED tv into 1080p and set it to 120 Hz I confirmed the refresh rate with other titles using V-sync and UFO test from TestUFO dot com. I also checked Nvidia control panel to confirm. It is in fact 1080 @ 120
I launch Halo Inf. go to settings set to full screen, ensure resolution is 1920x1080 at 100% scale.
Select v-sync on and max FPS is locked to 60 FPS when it should show 120FPS with v-sync on.
I have tried all options of scaling, HDR on and OFF, connected to my AVR (Denon with HDMI 2.1 support) and directly to my display I have used other HDMI cables I am using a 48GBps cable. connected to RTX 3090 connected to an LG C8 OLED with max of 4k 60hz or 1080 120 hz.
I can not fix the issue regardless of what I do it always says v-sync max is 60hz
Anyone have this issue and know a fix?

With a 3090 and only 1080p,why not just set the frame limit from the nvidia control panel side and then just set the min /max frame rate in game to unlimited? I can’t imagine you’ll ever get under 120fps.

BTW did you manually update the max frame rate option in the graphics settings?

My main concern is that the game is over ridding my displays refresh rate, I could be wrong, but halo just feels and looks a bit more; I don’t have the word; choppy, I guess? Like it feels like the game, yes is running at 150 FPS (what I found is best for a stable frame rate with my CPU) but it doesn’t look that smooth and feels like it tears way more than other games I own.

So, if v-sync will lock at 120 fps then I will have the peace of mind at least that the display and game are providing at least 120 updates a second and I can then increase it for small latency benefits as well as use fast sync in control panel since I can’t stand tearing

I don’t understand how this is possible since the game always runs in a window?

Have you tried turning off V-Sync?

This. V-Sync is meant to reduce visible screen tearing, which occurs when the fps drops below the set refresh rate.

It then tries to limit the refresh rate in order to match the current fps, while causing input lag.

Borderless fullscreen =/ windowed.

I think there is a big with in game vsync, IIRC, digital foundry said it is 1-2 fps off from the display refresh rate.

Also there is a known big with animations where the animation frame rate is less than display frame rate (even if the game is rendering at 120fps,animations will only update at 30fps)

I think disabling in game vsync, setting in game frame limits to unlimited, and then enabling the adaptive sync at the nvidia control panel level is your best bet. And I only say that because you have a 3090 and I really don’t see the frame rate dropping below 120fps regularly.

You Got it on lockdown. I submitted a bug to the team and I am working with them. I Found a way to see my display refresh rate and its only running at 60Hz even if the game is running at 200 ext.
