Anyone have any opinions on the kill speeds? Could we see ‘competitive’ settings set my MLG and other organisation include the Light Rifle as the starting weapon? I think these findings are interesting and need some discussion!
The Light Rifle with the Stability mod sounds badass.
Light Rifle and DMR seem to be the way to go. The Carbine kills too slow and the BR is too inaccurate.
The weapon with the least aim assist, but fastest kill time, would be my favorite.
I like that they appear to be fairly balanced. The light rifle zoomed in does seem slightly OP, so hopefully it won’t be too good when actually playing. I don’t care what stats say, though, I’m sticking with my trusty carbine!
They all look fairly even except maybe zoomed light rifle… if it was 4 shot but a fair bit slower that would be better.
Very interesting info thanks.

Yup.
I’ve been LR since the beginning because of the un-zoomed/zoomed attributes, not the power in either “mode”.
I’ll take the power changes with the time to kill exchange. But unfortunately if these stats hold true, I’m not going to diversify my loadout primary at all.
From this artifact i reveal a kernel of truth: The Light Rifle Zoomed with Stability is going to be a deadly combo in Halo 4.

I’m not really seeing any reason not to use the light rifle. The 0.2 second difference when unzoomed is negligible, and with the option to stay zoomed while being shot the 4sk is looking nice.

With the increased kill-time Carbine, it’s looking like sugar AND spice… And H3’s sandbox balance with the LR holding a huge #1 instead of the BR.
… Here’s hoping the sandbox doesn’t turn out as expected based on current events.
Many over there don’t seem imaginative enough to consider the Stability mod, and yes the math is off.
Both the kill-times are off in that they are not calculated Total Shots - Initial x Frames per Shot, and he rounded down instead of up to get his 1.6secKT for the DMR and BR.
The numbers don’t add up if the DMR and BR is 1.6 seconds at 10 frames that is .16 seconds per frame, times 11 frames = 1.76 seconds for a light rifle to shoot 5 shots. Its 1.28 seconds for a zoomed in rifle to shoot 4 shots at .32 seconds a shot.

Or the BR and the DMR are 1.63 seconds for a five shot and the zoomed in light rifle is 1.309 for 4 shots at .36 seconds per shot.
