Using the AR for Loadout Mastery..Worth it?

The protector helmet is definitely my favorite. The only problem is that to get it you need UNSC loadout mastery, which is fine, except that that means getting nearly 2000 kills with the assault rifle. Anyone else having this dilemma?

The weapon is actually kind of good, but I feel kind of bad using it. Not to mention getting yelled at for using it, which I would probably do to people using it in past Halo games.

It is also human nature to want something everyone else doesn’t have. I’m assuming that is why everyone that has it wears the unicorn helmet, because it can’t be because it looks good :|.

So the question is: Is it worth suffering through using the AR for the helmet I want, or should I just keep tacking on DMR kills?

Wait… Protector? BHAHAHAHAA Excuse me while I bleach my eyes to erase the image of that abomination of a helmet from my head.

But really. I’d focus on one at a time. Start with one weapon and move onto the next when you’re done.

King of the Hill is a good place to use it. That or Oddball.

Eh? AR is a fine gun now. It’s balanced. Use it and love it!

the ar has always been my favorite weapon since ce. it’s fine, there’s nothing wrong with it. it deserves to be respected!

Go for it dude. Who cares if you get yelled. You will never here from these people again after about ten minutes of playing with them. In a year are you going to remember making some random kid angry, or the fact that you got your cool new helmet?

It is a good weapon in the tunnels or for crowd control. Toss in a grenade off the wall and then come around the corner with the AR blazing.

Do it. I use the AR and I laugh at anyone who says that it takes less skill than a precision weapon (but it’s a different kind of skill than what you need with precision weapons). The AR definitely takes more skill than the DMR does currently; I can get kills way more easily with the DMR than I can with the BR or AR. Anyone who yells at you for using the AR when they’re using a DMR is a complete hypocrite. If they use a different precision weapon, BR in particular, and yell at you, it’s much less hypocritical, but still ridiculous and uncalled for.
