You might like Halo 4
The assault rifle’s significantly improved in Halo 5 when you compare it to previous assault rifles. I still prefer the BR, but the AR does work well. It’s certainly not the worst weapon in the game.
Why are you not using your M6 if the AR is so useless?
If you’re using the AR like an SMG, you’re going to get frustrated in head-on fights. You need to keep a 10-15m gap between you and your opponent to ensure the AR feels “just right.”

Weapon balance and fair starts is essential to the Halo experience. Play Warzone if you want loadouts, etc.

I’ve been playing since halo 1 and the assault rifle in halo 5 is not the worst weapon in the game trust me on that one.

exactly. When the MCC came out (and even still really) and I hop into a CE match and I even hear someone using that AR, I laugh. I mean, aside from cleaning up a kill instead of reloading your magnum … you get what I mean.
that sucks you are hating it so much. I for one prefer the balanced start every game. I also enjoy the up close combat style. I hated starting with the AR or BR. It just seemed like people would hide around a corner or in a room and pop out to shoot and then back in. I hope you find some balance and enjoyment.

I think the AR is way over powered now. Too many noobs complained about not being able to AR across map at skilled players with the BR so they made AR actually the strongest none power weapon you can get. It beats BRs at range unless the person with BR get a perfect kill. It matches the smg at close range (double beatdown). It has no weapon spread (the reticle is cosmetic). This yet again shows me <mark>REDACTED</mark> hands all over this game. They lower the radar range and give unlimited range to the AR, sounds like a bunch of noobs designed the game. Halo 3 was so good because AR worked at close range but you couldn’t and shouldn’t beat a BR at range. They werr losing all the noob players to COD so they changed the AR so you guys would come back to halo
Assault rifle is kinda fine the way it is. Much more accurate than past assault rifles.
I would like to see BR starts also, but if you are implying you want load outs YOU COULD GET OUT!
First off, the AR is fantastic, the most useful it’s been since Halo 1 and 4.
People on the forums have been complaining how OP it is, how it can out shoot BR’s at medium range. So I find it strangely calming to heat someone say it’s UP.
Almost as if it’d gasp perfectly balanced!

AR is for noob of halo and always has been. Us competitive players they were 50s in halo 3 know exactly why they did this. We use to dominant kids like you because youre not a skilled player just hide in corners and AR people when they walk pass. The noobs are all happy about the AR because now they’re not getting raped by BR anymore. So if youre a skilled player you’re better just using the pistol like I do because the AR is like the Saw from halo 4.

Agree with this 100%. It is horrible in H3 and Reach. HORRIBLE and sounds horrible in H3.
No this is down to your perception, your accuracy isn’t that good and you haven’t played more than a handful of games to boot. Pffft is all i can say.

Halo 3 has to be the least competitive Halo to date. It was made to be so accessible anyone could pick it up and be decent. The BR starts is also what helped make most people dislike this game. While using and becoming good with the BR takes skill, picking off people as they spawn or recently spawned from across the map does not, nor does it constitute raping them. Sitting on one side of the map is the same as hiding around a corner.

I looked at your stats. Your accuracy is horrible , not just with the Ar. But almost of the weapons. Try turning down your sensitivity to 2 or 3. When you play focus on your accuracy first. Once you get that decent then you can work on evasion while shooting.
