Use ELO Ranking System

The Elo ra system is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of
players in games/matches such as chess.

Each player has a numerical rating. A higher number indicates a better player,
based on results against other rated players. The winner of a match
gains a certain number of points in his or her rating and the
losing player loses the same amount. The number of points won or lost in a
match depends on the difference in the ratings of the players, so a player
will gain more points by beating a higher-rated player than by beating a
lower-rated player. In chess, for instance, if player A is rated
100 points higher than player B, it is expected that player A will win
about five out of eight games played. Over a series of games if either player
does better than expected his or her rating will go up.

EX: START OUT WITH A RATING OF 1000, you win it goes up, you lose it goes down
depending on the rating of your opponent.

Kind of like halo reaches arena but not exactly

How about we don’t. Cause Elo is not a very good system, because when the match is dead even the ranking doesn’t really change too much. If they use any system it should be blizzard’s Starcraft 2 ladder system.

Or we could go back to what worked…
Also, I don’t play LoL, but I hear a lot about “Elo Hell”.

It was originally a system made for Chess players. While it’s good in theory in practice unless you’re running with a team of 5 with no technical issues/leavers it works. But that’s the thing it’s hard to get 4 other people to all play at the same time, and always be 100% in sync.

Thats true but If they dont want to use
Halo 3 & 2 system they might as well create a good one their-selves or use one from a different game that works

Halo 2 used modified ELO. When Halo 3 was out Microsoft said everyone will use TrueSkill, no exceptions.

That was for matchmaking purposes. If ELO could rank you after matchmaking…

Perhaps this article on TrueSkill and this article that goes into depth on TrueSkill will clarify why we don’t use ELO.

Wasn’t ELO used on MKWii?

ELO?

Don’t bring me down.

But seriously… that sounds like an inaccurate system to me.
