Catalyst,

The new Halo map is fantastic.

I love that CTF on Catalyst is in the new ranked playlist.

However, this map is asymmetrical.

I am curious if this is 1 Flag CTF or 2 Flag CTF…

I sure hope it is 1 Flag, with Catalyst being so asymmetrical.

This would be such a great move for 343i. Especially if they bring back the “Assault” game mode with the bomb to plant in the base.

Anyone else feel the elevator bridge vibe with those hallways!?

Personally I think it’s relatively symmetrical

I guess it depends where the flags spawn.

This could be tested in customs.

For slayer, the map spawned asymmetrically for me from the start though.

So, I’m worried 343i may have oriented 2 Flag CTF asymmetrically…

I haven’t been able to play the new map yet as I’ve had basically no time to play and a little bit I did I didn’t get it. If it is asymmetrical that would be great! Those are my favorite maps. I’m not really a fan of symmetrical maps.

Yea, I love asymmetrical maps too.

But, don’t you think that if it’s CTF on an asymmetrical map, it should be 1 Flag CTF?

Symmetrical, not exactly. Mirror image, yes. That’s even enough for CTF. It’s not like we’re novice hockey players who can only turn well in one direction.

Not always, but a lot of the times yeah. I actually really like 1 flag in general.

Yea, I really like 1 Flag too. I just feel like certain maps are 1 flag maps and others are 2 flag maps.

Am I being dumb, is it actually not symmetrical?

I’ve played on it about 10 times now and if you asked me id say it is, but now I’m questioning it.

It has one line of symmetry I think, though again you have made me doubt myself ha. I don’t recall there being any difference to either side. It’s split down the middle of the energy bridge.

Love the look of those type of energy bridges.

Talking about symmetry we need another map with two lines of symmetry like Wizard/Warlock. Love playing Slayer on the map more than any other.
