Urgent Fix Needed, Magnum bodyshots should be 6 instead of 5

After breaking a shield, it should ALWAYS take 3 more body shots for the kill (Halo 2 BR, Halo 3 BR, Halo Reach DMR, Reach NR). It has always been the magic formula for Halo’s precision weapons.

#of body shots to kill = #of headshots to kill + 3

The magnum is now a 3 shot kill, but it only takes 2 more body shots to kill if all your previous shots were body shots, which means it takes 5 body shots to kill. This is not classic at ALL.

For the sake of balance and being adequately rewarded for landing a headshot on the 3rd shot, the magnum MUST kill with 6 body shots as opposed to 5!

3 shots to the head for a kill with 5 shots to the body is broken.

On top of that, make the magnum spread zero (not talking about bloom), so our shots actually hit where they’re supposed to when the bloom has been fully reset. To know what I’m talking about, try shooting a wall from a decent distance without moving the reticle and the make sure the bloom is reset each time. You will see that the shots don’t hit the same spot when they should.

Please fix it, 343!

okay, nothing in halo reach hits dead on, except the sniper rifle, maybe the dmr, and in real life, nothing does, do you really think that it deserves that much accuracy?

The DMR, NR, Halo 1 magnum, Halo 2 BR, and all the snipers are dead-on. 343 is replacing the current utility weapon, the DMR, with the magnum, which is quite an inconsistent weapon because of it’s spread. Since the playlists are supposed to simulate classic gameplay, then you would think they would make the spread 0 like the Halo 1 magnum.

I don’t know about you, but I just want a game where battles aren’t decided upon whoever has the luckier spread.

And since when is Halo aiming for realism?

this is reach, not 1, 2, or 3, and the CE magnum did not have dead on, far from it, i was playing last night, shooting at a target about 100 yards away, not even close to hitting the same spot each time

Yeah this is Reach, but 343 is trying to simulate a classic experience. One of the key aspects of the classic experience is a reliable utility weapon. What we should do is make the “classic” magnum have little to no spread and let the rest of regular Reach have it’s regular magnum.
