Maybe 343 intended this to be associated with the Anti-Didact (which may be Faber)

I don’t think it’s Faber. Why should he retire in a Shield World? And he is not a Promethean. How can he live in a Cryptum? The Symbol is the Didact’s NameBright - Coming Soon

I think it isn’t Faber as well. And if you read Primordium, there is a possibility that those Promethean Knights are actually Prometheans. “The Composer” was believed to be able to transfer living beings minds into machines (like a monitor like 343 GS). The Promethean Knights may be the real Prometheans transferred into machines, giving them a better advantage to surviving the Flood and the Halo Firing. Though this confuses me, I thought the Didact was the one who (ironically) fired the Halos. It confuses me how he could survive the array, unless he was in a machine or transported to safety.
Also why would the Master Builder use his own rival/enemies symbol(even upside down)?
It’s not the didacts symbol by any stretch, look at it on a big screen
Well, here’s my theory.
The Didact has to eventually die. Just like what happened to the original Didact before he was stored in the Cryptum. So chances are at some point, his mind was imprinted on an AI (similar to how 343 Guilty Spark is imprinted with Chakas’ mind).
This AI is the big spherical object. And is Rampant.
Quote Halo CE Anniversary Terminal 10: “If only the Didact and a legion of his prometheans were here. Without the Librarian to keep him in line, the Humans wouldn’t stand a chance.”

To be honest the most likely explanations are either Offensive Bias, or The Didact, with a possibility of meeting the librarian. And the sphere is a cryptum or so I thought I heard frankie say in an interview, correct me if I’m wrong please.
Also no the Promethean knights are most likely AI, if you read Halo: Cryptum in the parts in the council ship and in the council chambers, there are Defense Ancilla (AI’s) Red for combat mode, blue for guard mode I think and grey for powered down. These sound an awful lot like the Promethean knights, Defense AI’s that glow red
Hey just wanted to put this here. I discovered a difference between the Didact symbol and the one seen in the trailer other than the color. I can’t believe I didn’t notice this before. Check out these two pics:

Notice that the 2 ‘arms’ of the original symbol do not touch the outer ring. The new symbol however has them touching the ring. Could this be an oversight? A redesign of the symbol? Or something completely new?

Not only that but the hexagon in the centre of the symbol doesn’t have a hole in it where as the Didact symbol does so im not sure at the moment.

I love how Anti-Didact has caught on as a popular term.
It makes sense. An upside down symbol usually represents that, and since we don’t know what to call this guy, whether he is the Didact or not, that name makes the most sense.
I’m not disagreeing, I’ve been saying it since I saw the end of the trailer.
