Upsetting news from Sparkast 8...

Vehicles in Anniversary multiplayer ARE destructible.

What the heck? I thought they were trying to do a more classic experience?! Gravity is increased (which is alright because jump height in CE was lower than we’re used to), Speed is slightly increased, Zero-bloom weapons (AR and Magnum start)… but I can BLOW UP VEHICLES?! >:-( What’s the point then of going through all this trouble to make a more classic experience?

I’m don’t have a problem with them being destructible. It’s not very fun when someone camps with a scorpion or warthog

Yea that’s fine by me. Indestructible vehicles were a nuisance. Not to mention that most of the maps don’t use vehicles. Obviously with the exception of Ridgeline. Yes, Headlong had vehicles, but that was in H2. So really, nothing is too different here.

Indesctuctable vehicles is stupid anyway.

Also, I think people need to get their expectations in check. There is only so much 343 can actually achieve with the Reach engine. It isn’t going to be a 100% emulation of CE.

It’s also not very fun when the only way to defeat a scorpion is to damage it very heavily or destroy it. Indestructable vehicles don’t make the driver invulnerable, but they do give you a chance of capturing and using a defeated vehicle, which when implemented well can sometimes actually help to defeat snowballing.

I don’t get why people think that indestructable vehicles necessarily implies extremely difficult-to-defeat vehicles.

There is a custom game option to make vehicles indestructible. The vehicles appear damaged, but they don’t ever blow up. And since the Anniversary game types are made utilizing custom game options, it’s easily achievable.

they aren’t making the multiplayer exactly like the original, it’s reach’s multi, modified for CEA, it’s the campaign that’s going to be almost exactly like the original

@ 31:26 is when they start talking about it.

Could you gimme a link
Please?

Well, I kinda like the idea of exploding vehicles. Gives an intense game that way.

I was surprised when i heard about destructible vehicles. I assume that the DMR for BTB Ann is going to have bloom or capped ROF because ZB cross map sniping potential is not optimal and would make vehicles moving deathtraps.

so I can park a scorpion in the middle of timberlands and just set up shop? At least with the OP magnum tanks, warthogs, and their covy counterparts will have a difficult time destroying the land.

Why vehicles are best destructible. If this happens though, we will need … Tex

The anniversary game types should have no DMR in them. There will be some Reach variants on the Anniversary maps, though.

I’ll have to listen to the Sparkast 008 again because i am pretty sure they talked about the Anniversary BTB variant having the DMR.

You may be right about that. The more I think about it, that sounds correct. But it should only be that Ann playlist that does, if any.

I was right, around 31:12 they start talking about the loadouts for BTB Ann. DMRs+Mag starts for that variant while the rest of the playlist start with AR+Mag starts.

To be honest, I prefer destructible vehicles. Shoot me.

LOL the story about the shoe.
