Upgrading Armor - For Appearances Only?

Does upgrading/changing armor, helmet have any actual effect, or is it just for appearances? For example in Halo Reach there was the medkit you could add but you couldn’t actually use it in multiplayer to heal yourself. And from what I was told you could add all the heavier-looking armor you wanted but it would have no actual effect in regards to better protection.

I’ve gotten lots of new armor options since starting to play Halo 4 but see no reason to even bother looking at them if they are not functional in some way that improves things. Not complaining, just saying…

Purely cosmetic.

Armor itself does not effect how your Spartan preforms. It’s all aesthetic.

It would be nice if the Armour Mods actually gave you something cosmetically as well.

Its there to look pretty. I kinda wish they did do something, but then I would imagine how bad these forums would be.

I wish they would change the HUD up, but realize that would be a lot of work for 343.

Don’t get me wrong, I like that everyone can individualize their appearance. It’s a nice option to have. In my case I was able to unlock the C.I.O armor set with a bonus code. This armor does not normally unlock until later, but aside from that…it looks cool so I’ll keep it, regardless.
