So I see Halo Internet that there is a upgrade option in the polls menu so I had some ideas now some of my ideas probably would make the game too easy so some of my upgrades also have a drawback for example one upgrade I thought of is a rechargeable over shield however the shield recharge is slower some upgrades probably wouldn’t have any drawbacks the more simple ones like a slight increase in speed or something like that what upgrades would you all like to see would it be for weapons for the a armor or both what do you all think and what upgrades would you like to see
How about RPG-style progression in which you kill enemies, get skill points, and then you use those skill points to upgrade your gear (like armor abilities, grenades and armor). You can also find attachments for your guns scattered across the map, and when you pick up a weapon with, say, a scope, that scope would be equipped.

thinking of this brought me back to the style of game play that farcry 3 had with its stuff wouldn’t say i like it in halo format rather I’d like something a bit better more than anything.
How upgrades should be executed imo:
I feel like the upgrades the player applies on his/her gameplay would revolve more around the sandbox through interaction. What made Halo unique compared to the other triple AAA games (not saying triple AAA games don’t include this) is that a lot of its encounters were based through interaction through weapon sandbox, AI, and the environment (The Halo 3 Scarab fight is an example of all of these in one). This gave the developers a lot of control on what experiences they wanted the player to feel.
As an example the player could upgrade equipment that the player finds, such as the drop wall. The grappleshot should be able to be upgraded but that “upgraded version” requires you to actually find the piece of equipment. Due to the grappleshot giving more power over the sandbox and being a mechanic the player starts with it nullifies the sandbox. Why would I use a rocket to take out the legs, jump on the crane when I can just grapple? This does not mean it wouldn’t be fun but it comes with trade-offs.
What about upgradable weapons and Regular stats like HP and speed?
Really depends how weapons are upgraded in my opinion, if it’s upgraded in more lethality instead of being a puzzle then I would not advocate for upgradable weapons. The player should not feel like he/her needs to upgrade his/her weapons to progress through the game. However, if it was upgraded to fit more like a puzzle for some weapons I wouldn’t mind it. Take the plasma pistol as an example, it’s not the best damage dealing weapon but its charge makes it reliable. But the charged projectile is slow, takes battery, and you wouldn’t want to use it on something like a grunt or a jackal.
Upgradable HP and speed is eh, some people might like it other people don’t. I could see some potential for interesting builds though which can help with replayability.

I hope we can upgraded the lethality some if they are going to give us crap ammo carry capacity how ever if they increase what we can carry maybe something like Halo 3 level ammo capacity then the weapons lethality would be fine where it is at some people say I complain too much about the ammo but if you think about it the amount of ammo they give us Halo 4 and 5 runs out after 1 or 2 encounters especially if you’re playing in legendary
