I am not often one to say that something is terribly game-breaking. I will usually just try to find a way around it. But when people can have in their loadout something that will make them survive a sniper bullet to the head (and doesn’t cost req), therein lies the issue. Is there a point in sniping at all if the other guy can just eat a shot to the face and kill you even though you hit the snipe first?
I would like to petition for it to be reworked so that a sniper round can punch through the upgraded shields, because there is not much more painful or dissatisfying than watching your shot pass through their skull and not even drop their shields.
Please, for the sake of balancing, consider this.

You do realize OP’s only talking about changing their resistance to Sniper Rifle/Beam Rifle Headshots, right? Not the entire Armor Mod itself, just in a specific instance. Maybe they could, I don’t know, add a headshot damage-multiplier for only Sniper Rifles to Upgraded Shields mod.
To be fair, by the time you have people spawning with upgraded shields you’ll also have people spawning with stronger weapons.
But, I’m not much of a sniper, so I’m not fully qualified to speak from the point of view of one.
A lore nerd might know this, but doesn’t the sniper do damage under the shield too? I could swear I read that it does HP and Shield damage at the same time, and is slightly reduced in total damage by the shield due to the velocity of the bullet (hence a much slower assassination knife doing max damage. Non-newtonian fluid physics or whatever)
But a bullet going through the head no matter how slow is going to be a kill. Still doesn’t explain what the physics should be in the case of the overshield though. Maybe completely absorbed into the shield?
Anyway, I’m done with the sniper commendation so this doesn’t really impact me.

Finally, somebody gets it. And as for all the people saying headshot him twice, many of these instances are when both of us have a sniper so they can sit there and line up or just double body. Not to mention if they are sniping from cover they can just duck back in and recharge, then rinse repeat indefinitely.

You could also…Gasp…use the mod yourself.
It’s not exactly game breaking, but I was surprised when I found out it was only a uncommon. It should be at least a rare probably ultra rare in my opinion. Uncommon is just ridiculous for something so powerful.

If I am a headshot it should kill. This is how Halo has always been. The only time this has not been the case is overshield, but that is a pickup, not a Spawning ability.\
Its a -Yoinking!- crutch and one that doesn’t belong in the game.

Well, to be fair, surviving a Sniper Rifle Headshot is really the only useful thing that the mod does. Unless you’re some god who Perfect Kills everyone, you’ll more often than not end up either dying anyways or having a trade-off. I personally use Upgraded Thrusters, as being able to regen shields during sprint, as well as thrusting more often, is something I’d risk being sniped over.

I prefer advanced sensors, but the op was complaining about other people using the snipe with the mod.
I dont honestly find people using it much…and if I don’t sink the headshot I just go for the body.
One extra used shot for a kill, not an issue.
Lol , i love it, whenever i spot a sniper, i use that mod and make him shoot me in the head, and then recharge shields until he runs out of bullets
What really erks me is that it increases the BR TTK by requiring 5 bursts instead of 4.
This really screws me over in 1v1s.

It doesn’t matter how Halo has always been. This is a new Halo game called Halo 5, and it has a new game type called Warzone. And in Warzone, we have lots of different types of weapons and power ups to play with. And the whole point of a power up is to give you more power! Why on Earth would anyone want upgraded shields that aren’t an upgrade? Lol!
If you don’t like it and want old Halo, then play old Halo, it’s still there. You could also play any of the arena playlists, the headshots work just fine there.
