I thought the Mantis was the best new vehicle added to Halo. I think it would be cool if it was in Infinite with some upgrades like being able to jump some and have a new weapon.
Anybody else think there should be a upgraded Mantis in Infinite ?
I think there should definitely be new vehicles but another mantis, in truth, wouldn’t be my first pick.
Instead what I would like to see, given Infinite is shown to take place years after H5g & the start of new conflicts, is perhaps some form of more war torn and improvised weapons, much in the style of the banished, for Infinite seems to take place in time where it’s again on the verge of losing battle. Those form of vehicles would pretty much fit better in the setting whereas mantis was perhaps more of a part of military infrastructure on it’s height after the war.

Ok well what if it was like a forerunner type Mantis, like a left behind battle mech ?

For me a mech would seem perhaps seem a bit outdated as a forerunner technology given they were the second most advanced species in the Halo universe, after precursors.
And as a left behind gear, it would seem unlikely given last we have seen the universe has been pretty much emp:d, at least hindering technical advancements. So perhaps some stumbling across a prototype but that is so unlikely I wouldnt at least want devs to overuse the luck aspect, even when it’s about Chief himself.
So I would say, a possibility but not a likely one in the universe perspective. Development perspective it could be more likely, depending if such action would be seen as worthy aspect to put time and resources on.
