Updates, Patches, Additions, & Things MCC NEEDS

nearly forgotten that skull isn’t in all the games yet, good point

riiiiight! omg i forgot that classic Halo 2’s custom games was overhauled with so many options… would be dope if said options could be implemented in the other game’s customs. good idea

Acro Slayer/CTF/2Bomb in H1 or Reach would be hilariously fun.
Acro Grifball (with no bonus protection for bomb carrier so they can’t just full send right into goal) would be chaotic.
So many options…

I don’t really know how useful the acrophobia skull would be in Halo 4 given all the barriers

Well, I hope 343’s keeping an eye on what the Halo Community is creating through mods. I just saw someone create forgeable AI for Halo reach using the mod tools. Imagine if we had that in MCC officially. We could very well create our own firefight maps.

That’s just one example/reason of why 343 should take at least some inspiration from Mods when considering what content to add in.

Last few month I have been getting these “FATAL ERRORS” when hosting a game with NO ERROR EXPLANATION. It just sez “FATAL ERROR!”. I just hope the update we get in November fixes this issue,

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:

I can see your point. But I think Halo 3 ODST also has acrophobia and it also has a lot of barriers in the skybox. My thinking is that we might as well make it uniform so that all of the titles can use all of the skulls. Some might have less of an impact in one game than the other, but at least they’d be present.

I’d also like to see a black techsuit made available for Halo 4’s customization.

This. 100% this. Fully universal skull list for every title in MCC, with potential exceptions for some of the skulls that are simply not supported with earlier versions of the game engine. For example, Halo 1, using devtext within the careerdb xml file:

  • Assassin: (CUT: Most Saber3D assets don’t support camo)
  • Bonded Pair: (CUT: Not fully implemented, scales with co-op count)
  • Cowbell: (CUT: Not supported)
  • Envy: (CUT: Not supported)
  • Feather: (CUT: Feather doesn’t do anything of interest in the sandbox of H1)
  • Jacked: (CUT: Not supported, requires boarding)
  • Prophet Birthday Party: (CUT: Not supported)
  • So Angry: (CUT: Not supported, requires Brutes)
  • They Come Back: (CUT: Not supported)

Note: content in brackets is devtext

There are other skulls still missing from H1 that are in the careerdb file list, but they are filed under (CUT: Not fully implemented):

  • MasterBlaster
  • Swarm
  • Streaking

Acrophobia is actually in the list, and can be readily enabled. The reason for it’s non-activation is (CUT: Allows achievement exploits), which is… odd, given how other “extra-fun” skulls outright disable most achievements…

As well as the pre-existing skulls, it would also be neat if we got additional NPC-enhancing skulls, such as:

  • Methane Additives (base Grunt values are increased)
  • Skull and Crossbones (base Jackal values are increased)
  • Light of Sangheilios (base Elite values are increased)
  • Kicked Hive (base Drone values and maybe movement speed are increased)
  • Big Green Style/Ooh-Rah (base Marine/Trooper/ODST values are increased)
  • Prophet Birthday Party skull effects altered, now increases base Prophet values
  • Hardware Override (base Promethean construct values are increased).

And maybe one/three more, the former being implemented in order to restore original functionality of a classic skull without touching it’s current function:

  • Blown Minds (enables effects of classic H2’s Grunt Birthday Party skull, headshots cause most enemies to explode like a plasma grenade)

Perhaps the effects of Blown Minds could be further developed depending on enemy faction? For example, Covenant are immolated within plasma grenade explosions, whereas Promethean constructs detonate with the effect of a pulse grenade, and Flood detonate like a Carrier Form (without spawning infectors after the detonation).

And the last two hypothetical skulls:

  • Lead Head / Metal Head / Thick Skull: Disables headshot bonus damage.

This means that headshots no longer deliver instant-kill damage on Grunts, Jackals, Drones, shieldless Elites, helmetless Brutes, and H3 Flood combat forms, while CE/2 Hunters can no longer be cheap-shotted by precision weapons.

  • No Acceptable Losses: Grants energy shields to all enemy units.

I’ll end this post with a hypothetical scenario: Imagine Outskirts’ Sniper Alley or the Off the Rock, Through the Bush, Nothing but Jackal sequence… with the Assassin + That’s Just Wrong + Anger + Skull and Crossbones + Lead Head + No Acceptable Losses skulls enabled.

Need to be able to remove soft and kill barriers on stock maps and put them where we want like we could in Halo Online.

Peace! :fist_right: :fist_left:

Good point! Forgable AI shouldn’t be too hard to implement in MCC. I mean, if fans can get it in Reach, then that by proxy means it can be done in Halo 4 & H2:A given that not much changed between them. So that leaves Halo 3, but i’m sure there’l be some way to implement it into Halo 3 too

Hopefully they’l be able to fix said Fatal Error and add more of an explanation with said errors to help people fix whatever caused the Error. but good points too

Considering that Halo 3 got an Halo 4 styled Techsuit, that would indeed be cool for vice versa to happen, Halo 4 getting a Halo 3/Reach styled Techsuit

Yeah! that would be cool, removing kill barriers along with invisible walls, making whatever map entirely open to forging

Holly lord… Good ideas indeed for increasing the amount of fun/challenging skulls! Though i don’t understand what you meant by ‘base X values are increased’. Would it be like health? damage? aggressiveness? It just sounds like separating the mythic/thunder/tilt skulls into the individual Units. Could you perhaps further elaborate, please?

MCC needs to be made an “Xbox Play Anywhere” title. I’ve purchased the PC version on the Microsoft store/Xbox app, and I’d like to be able to play on Xbox without Game Pass. And I’m not buying it a third time. (I lost the disc in a move 5 years ago)

From what the description of the three currently-implemented specific enemy type enhancement skulls states:

Enraged Brutes explode like a frag grenade if not dispatched within seconds. Base Brute score values are increased.

Swarm: Hunters are much stronger. Base Hunter score values are increased.

They Come Back: Flood Combat Forms spawned by Infection Forms reanimating a corpse are much more dangerous. Flood Combat Form score values are increased.

It implies that “score values” alone pertains to the amount of points the player gets upon a successful kill of that particular unit type. The Swarm skull itself specifies that Mgalekgolo gain a health and/or attack bonus, while the So Angry skull does not directly mention a performance buff as well as the effect of making Jiralhanae detonate after berserking for too long.

My proposal for additional unit-specific skulls is mostly influenced by the same reasoning as why I wish for a universal skull list for every Halo title within MCC. Just feels incomplete without full inclusion.

If these skulls don’t give overall performance-enhancing buffs on top of additional gimmicks such as ape-bears undergoing critical fission when they mald off (which, if using the Swarm skull as an example, stacks with the Mythic and Tilt skulls), then the other units need gimmicks as well… hmm.

  • Methane Additives (H1 + H2): All Unggoy are armed with fuel rod guns. Movement speed of Unggoy increased by 50%.
  • Methane Additives (H3+): All Unggoy immediately ignite plasma grenades and charge upon spotting the player. Unggoy movement speed increased by 50%.
  • Skull and Crossbones (H1): (I don’t know,. maybe Jackals exclusively use Needlers or something? H1 has a limited sandbox for unit diversity.)
  • Skull and Crossbones (H2+): All Jackals are equipped with full-size point defense gauntlets. Jackal Infantry are armed with Carbines. Sniper Jackals will no longer panic if encountered in close quarters. Skirmishers jump 50% higher, and carry focus rifles.
  • Light of Sangheilios: (I have no idea. Mandatory weapon swap to Needlers in H1, Beam Rifles in H2/H4, and Needle Rifles/Focus Rifles in Reach? Increased shield recharge rate? 2x/3x Overshield that stacks with other skulls? All Elites in H2 are Rangers, and all Elites in Reach have the jetpack armor ability?)
  • Kicked Hive: Movement speed increased by 100%. (Data Hive is going to be fun.)
  • Big Green Style: flat performance bonus (more health, increased accuracy, etc.) for Crew/Marines/Troopers/ODSTs/SPARTAN-IVs
  • Prophet Birthday Party: Performance bonus that stacks with other skulls. Regret teleports around more often. Destroying a holographic projector in the Halo 3 campaign causes the riff sound effect. Meleeing Truth’s corpse also causes the riff sound effect.
  • Hardware Override: Crawlers pounce at drastically increased ranges. Hardlight shields projected by Watchers have unlimited duration. Knight data residues never expire, and they can be resurrected multiple times.

New halo Reach and Halo 3 ODST skull from halo 2 added to Firefight, with more options and enhancement, please 343 industries

yes! the new skulls definitely need to be added to firefight. hopefully soon. i think 343 mentioned they’re trying to get them to work into reach firefight when they added the two skulls into reach’s campaign

This should be day 1 for every single Halo game past, current and future!

Campaign Coop Matchmaking is such a great idea to meet new Spartans to play with and experience campaign in new ways.

can you show me where ?

i’ll have to look for it. i think it was in the waypoint post fir the last major waypoint update

I want to see Grunt Funeral, Feather, and Sputnik become available in all of the games. I’d also like to have Skulls in multiplayer for all games, just like how you can for Halo 2 Classic.
